They need to counsel him and define his game. Stop witrh the stupid crossover dribble and learn the 12 foot bank shot or some good K Mchale type of interior footwork. Hes got to turn his game around find out what the word pass means stop playing NBA 2K and use his size to his advantage.

Rose was a very bad choice for this team
When Rose plays one on one no one gets rhythm.

KP has regressed from the start of the season. That I agree. He looks tired and as if he has lost some of his touch on his moves. Since the Achilles injury he has never had the same touch scoring wise on a consistent basis.

That said right now he's at 18p/7r/2 blk a game on a team with Rose n Melo.
He is still on his way to becoming a very good player.
We need him to work on his post game.
We need to replace Rose with a real point guard.
We need to move on from Melo to get young and more athletic.

Replacing Rose will make a huge difference. A player like him needs playmaking help. The offense is sort of taking turns playing isoball, and KP is being forced into that. I am fully confident that 29 teams would be using him differently and are scratching their heads at the way the Knicks are using KP. There is a serious player development concern with this team in general, and the win at all cost mentality and the knee-jerk fan base is really hurting things. Late in this season, the focus needs to change on developing him as the star talent that he is, and stop trying to force him to play in a Melo-driven, iso-offense. We saw what happened to Jokic the minute Denver figured out how to use him, i think we will see the same with KP.

In my opinion, KP's 21 years old and you do your best to maximize his talent vs vets who are on their way down and in Rose's case only playing for themselves and their next contract. So long as Phil is here, I feel good about us valuing KP, Willy and young players development. If Phil leaves this summer, I sincerely worry that we would do what we have always done and that is devalue young players and their development in favor of veterans with established star power and fancy moves. Rebuilding is the only way out of this mess. No easy short cuts. We tried this year, it's time to move on.

If we keep Jennings as a long-term backup, and add one of the good PGs in the draft, i think it will make all the difference. You can just see how playing next to Rose has negatively affected KP. He has a lot to work on himself, but a change in the offense and with the PG will eliminate the need for him to have to play iso and take tough shots to get his points.

If you look at his monthly averages, they're getting worse as the season goes on. He needs to figure this out.

Is this all on him? Of course not. Coach needs to do something and if Phil trades Jennings, then that is a bad move as far as helping KP out.

But ins't the trend going up for Feb? Jan was bad but also was the time of his achilles injury.

Nov: very good (21.8 and 7.3 - 33.8 min)
Dec: slightly down but still decent (18.5 and 8.8 - 35.9 min)
Jan: down (13.9 and 4.3 - 29.0 min)
Feb: trending up (16.4 and 7.6 - 31.1 min)
