If this was planned in advance, have to admit this was some serous good timing and a great PR stunt!
What next, Marbury enshinement?

You know at the end of the day, it would just be good to have Oak back in the house and all behave and move forward.
Perhaps when all is good, the teams karma can return to a good place.

I'm looking at it skeptically. Vin Baker just came out commenting about how James Dolan had contacted him in the aftermath of the Oakley-incident and how strange it was because they hadn't talked for 15 years. Coincidence? I think not. But I could see how some could try and spin it as though Dolan is this benevolent guy.

If advance you mean in the past 24 hours, no doubt Dolan planned this in "advance". And no doubt Spree received a nice check for making this appearance. This reconciliation was as phony as a $3 bill.

This was a political move from Dolan to bring all this players together to the Garden...
Something was missing... something very important... May be the soul of the game?
Oak was wrong but he broke some glass coffin around the Knicks and fresh air start poring in.
I have a feeling that the 20-years spell on the team is breaking down.
May be its just me?

Yep. I thought it was sad and cheap as hell.

Larry Johnson (who is a Knicks employee) said he debated not going to the game out of support for Oak.

It is always both ways.
It is up to us what to smell.

At least Spree finally got back in the Garden after 15 years in exile. He actually seemed somewhat touched by it.

It's really too bad it had to happen under the ****tiest circumstances possible, because otherwise, I would've loved the move.

Spree need to thank Oak. He forced Dolan to pull old skeletons out of the wardrobe.

Oh yeah, definitely.

Hey - I hope Dolan had to pay Spree $100,000 for the appearance. F Dolan.

Before we slam this, was it planned before Oak was exiled?
Was the Vin Baker tweet thing sarcasm? lets check some facts vs humor.

I'm sure it was just a coincidence and Dolan had invited recovering alcoholic Vin Baker to a Greatest Knicks 70th anniversary event due to Vin's electrifying 41 games in the orange and blue. I'm sure it had nothing to due with the fact that he had called Oakley an alcoholic two days earlier and will be facing a slander lawsuit from him.

I'm sure the Spree thing was a coincidence too and had been set up years ago.

A sad and pathetic spectacle ibdeed. It was nice to see Spree, but if anyone wanted to erase any doubts about Dolan being a complete hypocrite, this was the way to do it. I mean, how dumb is his PR team to think that we are so dumb to believe that this was planned in advance? Dolan has a knack for hiring incompetents, and his PR team is no exception. Still wondering why the MSG company has not yet gone bankrupt, and how it is that the Rangers are run so well with such an owner.

The only way Dolan can win back some respect is to own up to his faults, apologize to Oak, say that security and a good safe environment at the Garden are inportant, but that night things went overboard, and that he welcomes Oak back to the Garden, but hopes that he'd be there to have a good time and let others have a good tine.

It was obviously done because of the Oak thing, but it was still good to see

Yesterday was an absolute disgrace.

Parading ex Knicks up and down celebrity row to make up for the disgraceful scene of throwing Oakley out.

You're going to bring back Vin Baker who played a season and half, Herb Williams, downright low class as ever for this ****ty franchise.

Sprewell? Come on. He's one of my all time favorites, but to extend a branch because you disgraced a Knick great is childish.

Spree had not left on good terms, I wonder how Dolan reconciled with him?

Oak is not a reasonable person, which is part of his charm. Nor is Dolan, which is part of him being an arse.
It does make me wonder what the REAL beef is between those two. We usually defer to Dolan's lack of character as the cause.
I'd like to see Oak part of the celebration and if need be, reconcile with Dolan. As for being a part of the organization going forward, let just say that time mightiness to pass a bit on that one. If this is really about the fans and love, both need to swallow a little pride and move forward.

While I don't pretend to be judge and jury, I'd say both are not exactly blameless.

One interesting thing: both spree and oak were pissed at Dolan for being traded

Speaks to a better time when players wanted to be here

It's been a tough stretch but hoping we put a bottom in and can move up

Honestly having oak and spree in the fold could help remind roster they should play w heart
