Gotta say I really like you idea. I've been a proponent of going small with this roster and having Melo and KP at the 4n5 but I actually hadn't thought of this particular lineup. It looks very interesting based on the actual skills of the players we have. I wonder if Phil would let Jeff just do what he wants if he wanted to go with this or if he'd complain?

Many here have an illusion that veteran players like Rose or Melo can change their game.
This is not possible. No one can make something from nothing.
There are many high IQ players who changed their game to stay longer in NBA and be effective and useful but they did poses diversified skills to begin with. It is hard to find more one-dimensional players that Rose, Melo, and Jennings.

Actually Jeff had NON Traditional PG's in PHX. He had success with scoring PG's. The thing is that Rose is probably even further away from PG than we probably need. Still that's not really a problem if you can have a kid like Baker in there to be a ball mover. That's what we did with Felton and Kidd.

Isiah is scoring PG but he is great passer too. But most importantly he can run NBA offense on very high level.
He learned a lot under Jeff and this shows.
We need young talent at PG to develop under Jeff.
This should be a priority at draft time and on the FA market.
And I doubt it will be wise to resign Rose and Jennings for that matter.
Unless they will turn it around they showed nothing to do that.
Rose doing a good job top show shining false gold to increase his trade value.
Knicks should not miss on this opportunity.

I disagree about Rose. I think you can in fact make it work with a Scoring PG like Rose and as I pointed out above you do that by pairing him with a Passing SG. We have Felton and Kidd and that worked. Perhaps Rose and Baker would be a solution down the line. I'm curious to see how Jeff handles this. Sure we should look for a young PG but that is for after the season. For right now we need to maximize what we have.
