With the emergence of O'Quinn & Hernangomez, I inquire whether Minnesota is interested in Noah.
Noah is starting to get his legs under him (also great for team moral) but would rather have O'quinn starting.

O'quinn is a great complement to KP and we're obviously a better team with him on the floor.

I would trade Noah if anyone is willing to have him. Maybe the Warriors or the T Wolves?

If Phil wants to be more ready for this coming summer they will have to do something to clear cap so I can imagine a trade like the one they suggested. I'm pretty sure the Knicks realize something has to be done. Also since we have some coverage it's likely LT is going to be offered up.

The new cba will make it difficult to upgrade the roster this offseason- no amnesty clause, plus rookie and minimum salaries are set to double, as will average salary (from 5 million to 9 million.)

Not sure there is much we can do on the trade front. I know Phil doesn't want to trade picks(thank god) and noah's contract would be very tough to move

The only thing the team needs is a better 3rd point guard. Billy, Thomas, and Holiday are our best trade assets. I would not trade any of them. We may need to trade Thomas later in the year to clear cap space though, but I would wait on that move. Ideally, we would want to trade Noah. It might be possible. If Tim Mozgoz can get the money he got, then there may be a team out there that would take Noah, especially if we offered money and a draft pick (no more than a second rounder though). That would clear up enough money for use to sign two big name FAs this summer.

Noah is here for a reason and we all knew he is injury prone. Unless player is totally into it, its not good practice to sign free agents then trade them.

I like Lance thomas but if he can return a first round pick, even if we use it for another trade down the road, thats a decent idea.
Little moves like this add up.

Wish we could pawn Noah off on Minny, but I doubt Thibs is interested. Probably would have to expand to include other players.

I wouldn't make any trades this season. Need to assess the team for a longer period of time. Maybe the trade deadline or the offseason. Noah and Thomas are probably the most expendable, but that doesn't necessarily mean they should get traded.

I don't think so. I'm seeing L. Thomas and J. Noah but both will be needed for defensive purposes if we make the playoffs.

I know we are all falling in love with K.O'Quinn offense right now, but his defense is atrocious and it was evident at the PHX Suns game.

Unless someone offers a mind blowing deal, I think the Knicks should stay put and hope that our younger bench players continue to develop

I'm in agreement...

What we are getting back is important as well. Cap relief and a draft pick for Thomas is fine because of Kuz and the D-league kid Damien Inglis.... Noah makes alot. Minnesota is the obvious connection, but there could be a playoff team that might want to recruit Noah for a playoff run. Realistically that's not really something that makes sense when you take a look around the league.

A team on the cusp with devastating injury could make a strong play for Noah, but like I said, he has to be totally cool with it.
Say Deandre Jordan gets hurt, Noah can fill in. Problem is his contract and ability for team to absorb. I seriously doubt this is a likley scenario.
Minnys problems are not in its front court. Its the guards and wings.

This.

first you cant trade Noah. He WANTED to come here and we just signed him. We did the same thing with Lopez. I get "its a business" but thats a low class moves that players notice. While Noah has played poorly his value has yet to be realized. Moving him now would be insanely premature. Also we have Willy/KOQ on cap friendly deals behind him. We should be under no pressure to improve there.

Really we just need to grow from within. Older guys need to play better together. Younger guys just need to keep developing.

In this article posted elsewhere on the UK, it mentions noah's cultural contributions.

Even with Noah's contract, the combination of KP, Willy, O'Quinn, and Noah is still one of the better bargain front-courts in the league because the other 3 have such favorable contracts.

I believe Noah would make an exception for Minny because of Thibs. Both Noah and Rose have spoken about missing their old coach, and vice versa. If there is a way for Phil to exploit that bond to improve the roster, he should.

If Noah's presence on and off the court, in practice, in film sessions makes positive impressions on KP, WIlly and KOQ, then is value is beyond statistics.
