But we lost the war.

Credit to PHX as they beat a more talented team. Rose was hurting a they shut down Melo.
KP answered the call and carried the team.
PHX was wise to try to rile the man an see if they could get him ejected or out of sorts. Knocked him down!
I don't mind the young man standing up and pushing back. I did not see the play live, (highlight) and I assume he got called for a personal foul.
In the end, KP fouled out! Won the battle, lost the war. What is he to do otherwise? Not sure. He got had a monster game. But he fouled out. If he stayed in do knicks win game? Can't say.
Part of his maturation will be to not take the bait and wait for Noah, or another to come in and be the enforcer and take the foul. KP game spoke volumes without having to take the foul.
Like I said, can't fault the kid for pushing back. But in a playoff game, he'll have to be cool. Ask Draymond. His ball slapping cost them a championship. Not the same, but one foul can turn a game.

Someone said in the gamethread that KP wasnt being fiery enough after he got knocked down by Chriss. KP got up, knocked Chriss back. and then spent the rest of the game quietly destroying the Suns. Porzingis let his game do the talking. Getting angry helped KP focus, get the job done. Thats a great quality for a potential superstar to have.
Some players lose focus when they're angry, takes them out of their game. I will take a quiet assassin, over a talker (who mostly talks) any day of the week.

Agree... He hit a 3 in Chriss's face and flashed a nice "put that in your pipe and smoke it punk"

Hitting that game winner would have been epic. He's young. It will come.

KP handled it perfectly. He pushed back (and it was obvious he would have to earn a tech to prove his point) but he made his statement that he wasn't going to back down, and then responded by completely taking over the game. It's a shame he picked up so many fouls in the 3rd quarter. I think we win that game if he doesn't foul out.

as much as i kinda agree with you, who is this teams enforcer? noah? them hit him to the ground and he got up and defended himself. other teams that have that strategy of being physical with him might, i say might, see it differently now they see not a skinny lil euro but a big 7ft3 man who wont back down. i dont blame him for that, taking on the bully and i kinda blame everyone else for losing a game he basically handed to them

Have to correct myself, KP didnt get the job done, but that was due to a bad call more than anything else. Agree, that look he gave Chriss was priceless. Probably thought he could intimidate KP.

One of the Suns commentators said that he had his doubts about KP, but no longer. Was great to hear from another team's crew.

yea man... KP is only 21 but when Chriss was in high school KP was playing with grown men. He knows how to handle himself. Not to mention he's the youngest of his brothers and while every family is different the more big bros you have the more you know how to handle getting pushed around a bit.

KP is perfect. He really is. There just isnt anything not to like. Plays hard, with passion, doesnt take crap, doesnt give it... just does his thing, loves the game and plays his tail off.

KP is the real deal fellas. I thought the kid held his own beautifully. They took Melo out of his game which is not easy to do, but KP was UNFAZED by the overly physical play of Phoenix. The refs did not have control of the game and he was UNFAZED. KP continues to impress the entire **** out of me.

Shame on Noah for not immediately protecting KP though. It's not enough to jaw back and forth with guys. It's also not enough to stand behind KP and pull him back. Noah has got to jump in front of KP and shut it down just like Oakley did back in the day.

I saw this differently. I was impressed with Noah. When KP committed the foul on Chriss earlier, and Chriss said something to KP, Noah immediately shut it down and told Chriss off. Then when this situation happened, Noah pulled KP away. I am not sure what else he could have done, but that is from my perspective.

I agree with this about Noah. A little dissappointed though that only Jennings went and tried to protect KP. I was waiting on Melo to try to intimidate Chriss but it didn't happen.

Earlier in the game Melo and Lee kept jawing with Chriss! They did not just let it go.

What kp did was crucial. To prove he isn't the stereotypical soft Euro. To show that other teams can't bully him through just shoving. I'm glad he did what he did

But he fouled out. Did he get assessed a foul when he shoved back?
We lost the game.

he did not get a foul on the play. just a tech which has no effect on his fouling out

chriss got a flagrant so we had two shots and the ball.

He got a tech, that didn't make him foul out

Totally agree, need Noah to be an enforcer. He has disappointed on all counts so far, and I was so happy when we got him. He does make some damn good passes though.

Its not enough to tell sometime off or pull your teammate away. Noah should have did what Oakley did and that's jump in front of KP and physically protect him. That's what Oakley did. It's not about fighting, but if this happens again I expect Noah to do that. The only guy that jumped in front was Brandon Jennings. That's no good. Brandon Jennings was left to face off against Tyson who was doing what Noah should have done. It was embarrassing. Melo didn't have much to say either. It's not enough to jaw back and forth in a situation like that. We looked weak.

To add, KP could have jumped up and threw a punch. In the heat of the moment you are defending yourself so it could have happened. That could have been a hefty suspension and a dent in the kids career. Noah should have jumped in to push Chriss before KP even got up from the floor to avoid that possibility. That's how you protect your star player. Let the guards and the coaches handle KP and calm him down. Noahs job is to be that enforcer.
