waah the triangle takes away my "creativity." boo-hoo and **** this clown

knicks win 38-43 games in 16-17. rose MUST shoot no more than 14 shots per game, defer to kp6 + melo, and have a usage rate of less than 25%

He trashes it then says it could work he doesn't know....

I'm sick of talking about the triangle. I was watching the Charlotte/Bulls game tonight and the Bulls ran the triangle 4 straight times during a sequence in the 1st quarter.... but since it's not Phil or the Knicks I guess it's not the triangle. It's really ****ing irritating

The best thing that can happen is us putting a whoop azz on them tomorrow night and in the regular season.

So every active or retired player pg is ignorant.

What's your point exactly (?)

I never called anyone ignorant for criticizing the triangle, im just saying it's really not news that pg's don't like the triangle because it doesn't cater to the position. How many pg's have we heard say some negative sht about the triangle..they just don't like it

ball-dominant, high usage, non-orchestrating, chucking point guards don't like system basketball. it cramps their "creativity." that's what he is saying. it's a team game, a five-man game.

he's ignorant and smug. he's the type of guy who will get shut down and embarrassed in the playoffs, just like what happened to rose in his mvp season when lebron "cut off the head of the snake."

Back when the Triangle was created by Sam Barry and taught to Tex Winter, there wasn't the same emphasis on positions as we have in the modern game. The Triangle style of ball is really not built around a ball dominant PG. There weren't any back then!!! That doesn't mean you can't make adjustments to the offense. It's a system and not just a play, so really you can tweak the hell out of it and it has been tweaked over the years.

The way Hornacek is blending his concepts into the offense with some Triangle makes sense to me. The principles of the Triangle can be applied in so many ways. Also there is more to the system than the Side Triangle that most PG's complain about. IMO it's stupid to complain about one aspect of an entire offense that also includes other sets besides the Side Triangle.

The modern day pg, scoring, P&R, breaking down defenses, coming off triple screens, hoisting up 14 to 20 shots per game, and usually the best player on the team.

So if you give me a team that runs the triangle with that type of (AAU/1 yr of college) player, I'll love to see it.. There are 20 options in the triangle, that's too much to think about for any low IQ, high usage PG..

That's why phil is throwing his hands up like "FCK IT" run what you want

Don't know how you're missing the point which you somehow are but the point is a Boston Celtic publicly talking smack about the Knicks.

Yeah, maybe.

I'm 50/50 on that.

Maybe Jackson is indeed just saying: "Hey, you don't want my 11 rings
system (?) Okay, I've done my job restocking the Knicks roster. Good luck
with it. Me, I'm off to the beach next summer . . .".

Or maybe . . . he's just waiting for them to see that with a conventional
offense this roster is never going to be better than a conference finalist.
Maybe then they'll come around to appreciating what the Triangle offers.

Seems to me it could be either way, at this point . . .

Is it the knicks or the system they run..

I'm not bias when it comes to the knicks and the triangle, when everybody (not just I T) is questioning the use of the system (including players that won rings playing in it) why should thomas comments bother anyone.

we won 17 games trying to run it, and turned a solid season into a dismal one when they insisted on running it, and evvvvvery time we talk triangle, you guys fall back on Phils 11 rings, like 4 HOF players were hardly the reason..smh

No quite what I was saying.

I was saying that Jackson might have good reason to argue:

"You hired me because I won 11 rings.
I won 11 rings because I ran the Triangle.
If you don't want the Triangle, then why am I here (?)
Hasta la vista, baby . . ."
