Just got me thinking, maybe Slam is not altoghether wrong. Which players are definitely better than Melo? Which are about the same? For whom would I trade him straight up?

No Hesitation:
Steph Curry
LeBron
Durant
Westbrook
Cousins
A. Davis
Lillard
Irving
Towns
Harden
Wall

Maybe:
CP3
Leonard
Wiggins
DeAndre
Drummond
Whiteside

So this makes him about #11-15 in my book.

How old is Melo now? Its more about his age at this point than his skill set. Top 15-20 seems about right.

15ish is about right off the top of my head

lol, however, at wiggins, whiteside or deandre being better players than melo. though paul george and perhaps others should be on your list.

15 is pretty fair. Didn't ESPN have him at 24 last year or something?

They put Griffin ahead of him which is pretty funny. Out of your no hesitation guys I would remove towns, Irving and wall and put them all in the maybe category. I would also move leonard up to no hesitation. I think Cousins is very overrated and shouldn't be in either list.

It's seems accurate. With decline in athleticism and never really shooting high percentage fg. I heard he is upset. Prove them wrong MVP and ring will suffice.

To prove then wrong he needs mvp and a ring?

Not necessarily better, but younger and on an ascendant path. And, IMO, a truly dominant defensive center is a more important championship piece than a high-scoring small forward.

No...
He need to show better numbers across the stat sheet and bigger contribution to winning.
This year he has all set up for this - talent, coach, vets, youth... So no excuses.

15 might have been kind, depending on the standard. If you are counting age and upside, well...If Melo is theMagic version of Melo we saw flashes of, he ranks a bit higher. But, otherwise, I agree with the no hesitation group and much of the maybe. If Melo is only looking at offensive stats, he is among the top offensive options. His defense is nothing to brag about, where that list has many two way players.

Want a higher ranking? Work harder on defense.

You know I gonna spin wit it

He wants be known as one of the greatest then yes a ring and MVP lead the team. This is what stars do. I don't know how anyone can argue what he needs to accomplish to get in the top 5. His age and career have hit a downward trajectory. His numbers and game and ranking among players will only go down.

Wall is a no-brainer. Towns, too, just based on career trajectory and age.

#15 is about right, mainly due to his age.

he arguably played the best team ball of his career last year...when kawhi does it he's in top 10...when melo does it he's out of top 10. haters gonna hate.
when kawhi starts averaging 27-28 points a game, wake me up.

carmelo has shown his versatility last season and for that he doesn't even get to be in the same conversation as lebron...smh.

Nixluva is posting triangle screen grabs, even when nobody asks - Fishmike. LOL So are we going to reference that thread like the bible now? "The thread of Wroten Page 14 post 9" - EnySpree

he is as high as 11th or as low as 17th-- if he plays this year like he did last year for those 25 glorious games he's top 5 in the nba. i suppose he could break the top 10 but it'd be a tough argument.

lebron
leonard
paul george
durant
curry
harden
westbrook
marc gasol
gordon hayward
chris paul

john wall
anthony davis
milsap
towns
dirk
griffin
melo

knicks win 38-43 games in 16-17. rose MUST shoot no more than 14 shots per game, defer to kp6 + melo, and have a usage rate of less than 25%

And the perception that he doesn't make others better and his individual stats doesn't produce team wins.....If his new team game produced more wins last year, he would've been higher on the list......But he's known as a gunner who doesn't pass or do the little things to help a team win....And as gunners increase in age, their value drops fast. Even when he was in his prime, i thought he was ranked too high....But my ranking is different than others. I value two way players more than one way players.

Harden can't guard a tree stump, but he's a no brainer.
CP3 might as well be 500 years old and if he was on any further of a downward trajectory, you wouldn't be able to see his career.
Griffin is laughable.
Dirk's older than Melo's father, never played d worth a sheehit, but he's got a ring so he's better right now.

Gaddam ****ing Hayward?
Marc Gasol?

yeah, Kyle Korver, he should be top 10, he's a more efficient scorer than Melo.

Who cares-- just win

I know were going to need a C and a reliable 3 point shooter off the bench--thats whats more important than what rank Melo is.
