That's freaking awesome man! I love when players appreciate being a Knick. I'm pulling for him to find success here. He always wanted to be here and still has that desire to be here. That says a lot.

It's great to hear but, and this is a genuine question, when was the last time a player wanted to be here and it ended well? Seems like a curse!

Jennings is an old school Knicks fan. I'm rooting for him to stick, but he's got a lot of work to do.

He's been posting some 90s Knicks swag on his twitter, too.

I would love if things worked out and he stayed here long term. I still think he has a lot to offer and has a chance to recover his career nicely considering his age.

Ewing has been quoted as saying he was praying for NY over Indiana when the magic draft was happening. I think his career here counts as an "ended well".
Melo forced his way here; his lone presence hasn't provided a chip, but the franchise hasn't been at the Marbles vs Vaseline/Get in the Truck level of irrelevance either.

You're right though, not too many times does it end happy. Another genuine question: how many times has a player actually wanted to be here?

I always wondered how come he is a Knick fan. He is from Compton. You would think he would be a Laker fan.

i think Ewing's career is remembered well but I don't think that it ended well in reality

Knicks were considered by many to be the toughest team in the league back then. Maybe being from Compton, Jennings respected that. NYC fans are some of the biggest front runners around, was always seeing gear from whoever were champs back in the day. Jennings remained a fan and wanted to be a Knick. I hope he can take his game to the next level in NY.

I like him as a player....I like his enthusiasm.....I like his energy.

My problem is I don't think he has a position. He's a better player if you build around him like Allen Iverson. But I don't trust him as a point guard. And him and Rose together is like having two ushers on the team at one time. Guards will be getting to the rim or shooting over them with ease.

But since he has the heart of a knick fan, it's hard to root against that.

Born in Brooklyn, Raised in Queens, Lives in Maryland. The future is bright, I'm a Knicks fan for life!

I have a feeling that the defensive weaknesses will be helped by having Noah, KP, Lee, LT and a little bit of kids like Holiday and Ndour in the mix. Once they all develop more defensive chemistry and game plan for teams, the D should tighten up a lot. Even with Rose n BJ being poor defenders. It's gotta be a TEAM thing and they've gotta be more connected than we saw in game 1. I expect a better defensive performance from here on.

Yup, thats why I said that I was hoping Jennings takes it to the next level. He cant seem to decide wether or not he wants to be an SG or a PG. Maybe once it settles in how many weapons Jennings has to pass to, he wont feel the need to look to score as much.

is this a good thing or bad thing (that jennings wants to stay a knick)?
Knicks should be improved: win about 40 games and maybe sneak into the playoffs. Melo, Rose and even Noah will have some nice moments however this team should be about PORZINGUS. the sooner they make him the primary player, the better

Love the hype when a player wants to be here. its like we are starved for love or something!!!

Jennings wants to get paid and have a nice career. Lets see how he does when the media jumps on his arse if he is not killing it!

Stay healthy, put up good numbers, contribute to a playoff team and maybe win a series with them. Then, we'll all want him back.
If the team flounders, he is nothing special, and even injured, well we'll just have to move on!

Phil told him he wanted him to be 6th man of the year! That pretty much indicates he wants his scoring! I don't think it will stop him from being a willing passer tho. BJ had some great chemistry with the Pistons.

Good point. If Rose isnt here next season, and Jennings wants to be starting PG, he has to show he can make the transition from a sixth man role, which has different responsibilities. As blkexec pointed out, Jennings still has work to do on his game. He wants to be here, hope Jennings makes it.

he and rose both looked like water bugs (not ****aroaches but the bugs that run on top of the water in ponds and pools and lakes and such) out there in that preseason game: scattered, unfocussed, no plan, and yes, atrociously bad defense. by game 20 we will know if they're worth keeping beyond this season. again: defense wins championships.

knicks win 38-43 games in 16-17. rose MUST shoot no more than 14 shots per game, defer to kp6 + melo, and have a usage rate of less than 25%

It never ends happy with the knicks and the players they acquire, because injuries and losses mount. If Jennings struggles, he will turn into a whipping boy like AA.
