Thanks for posting this.

I'm only about 18 mins or so in -- he's having trouble corralling rebounds thusfar but Willy's post skills are for real, man. Wow! He's made Valanciunas look silly twice so far, once on a baseline spin right around him for a dunk top right side (he was a blur in that move--Jonas had no idea what even happened) and the 2nd time, he executed a super tight/quick up and under move on him for a left-handed lay-in. His moves are supremely skillful and his footwork really looks superb. Valanciunas is no slouch -- this was a good test for Willy and he's answering the bell so far against a quality big-man opponent. Willy's also playing good team defense out there--switching off quickly to cover multiple opponents, he's gotten up to challenge shots at the rim a few times and he's setting good picks, sometimes one right after the other in the same offensive set. Talking it up out there too, directing guys to go through, etc...He looks damn impressive. We'll have to see more but just going on available video and the tape of this game, I see a far more advanced big man over KOQ here. Looking forward to watching more.

Sergio and Rudy still have it too, huh? Nice to see--I was always a fan of both players, esp. early on when Portland had them.

Kuz not showing much so far but you can tell he's got game too. Kuz and Willy are gonna be two quality additions for the Knicks. I feel real good about both of them. Can't wait to see them in person.

Who's number 5 for Lithuania? Big PG--looks a lot bigger than Sergio. He looks like a player..

Not much from our Lithuanian...did not look like he was into playing in this game, IMO. He is a complimentary player, who should do better with some better PGs.

Willy moves well and showed a few moves in the post. He banged well with a veteran NBA muscleman- Valanciunas.

You can see Willy picking up fouls in the quicker NBA, but I liked the fact that he didn't get pushed around in the trenches.

Yeah I was very impressed with Willy. He has NBA level ability to hold his spot in the low post. He's not a great player but you can see how he could be effective as a Center off the bench. I actually think he could be more effective as a post player than KOQ. Both players are below the rim guys but Willy looks a bit more spry and quick with his moves.

Didn't see game but bit surprised at the descriptions because I thought he was banger without much to offer on O. After seeing him, are we comfortable that Noah is adequately back by the trio of OQuinn, Wily and Plumlee?

Willy has some decent moves in the pivot and can use both hands. Lets face it, he went up against some decent bigs in this game.

He made some nice passes, picks, and he knows how to move without the ball after a pick. I thought his teammates missed him a number of times. Had one turn around J that he missed. More of a midrange shooter at this time, but he was not called on to do this in this game.

He's lost some of his baby fat, from what I can see. Hopefully he and KP work out together to put on some muscle.

Will be interested to see how he matches up with KOQ and Plumlee. He's slicker than Plumlee, and has a better offensive moves down low.

Also have to remember that KP can play some center, too.

Well it won't be hard to be a better post player then KOQ is that's for sure.

The very first spin move be did shocked me. That move alone showed he is a real nba player. The alley oop he caught shortly after was impressive as well. Shouted his agility and court awareness.

Kuzminskas was open a few times in the beginning and it made me think his players were freezing him out. Kuzminskas is constantly moving. You can see he can play, it's just his teammates aren't looking out for him. Hadn't had much chance to do something with the ball yet either.

Jonas looked lost on that play. Not to be a negger but I thought Hernie put the ball down again an unnecessary time on that dunk. Would have liked to see him go straight up. But the pivot was great. Jonas looked like David Lee.

You know I gonna spin wit it

The alley oop impressed me quite a bit. And his defensive awareness. Snagging bad passes. Decent outlet passes afterwards.

Willy got increasingly frustrated as the game went along. Valanciunas is being allowed to bump guys blatantly in the paint where in the nba he would have been ejected by now. That's the difference in the rules of FIBA and the nba.

Good for him to experience this kind of thing...better to be banged around in FIBA and not see the same thing here, than be babied in Europe and suddenly face the strength of NBA bigs.

Valanciunas is a bit dirty, though.

The kid has big strong legs and he's pretty agile and light on his feet. He lacks the explosion but he can move very well. He really knows how to use that big body and get his below the rim shots off.

Did you notice he's going against Valanciunas? In this video?

yea.. Willy looked best against one of the NBA's better big men.

I think he comes in and really challenges for the backup center role, and you know that player is going to see some extended minutes and get some starts unless Noah plays 82 and I don't think we want that even if he could

If Willy holds his own on D, he should get backup minutes over KOQ.

Will be interesting to see how KOQ responds in camp and whether he shows up in great shape.

That's what I've been thinking all along--Willy over O'Quinn. Just on that post threat element alone. That's the biggest thing that stands out to me about Willy--his advanced post game. Great mixture of skill along with excellent footwork. Might be the best post player we have on the team and the guy hasn't even played a second for us yet. I think you play Willy and exploit that post threat. Hopefully the other aspects of his game are solid enough to warrant the PT. What concerns me just a little after watching this: the plus rebounding and people like Fran Fraschilla calling him a 'banger' are two important parts of the scouting report I was hoping to see but surprisingly didn't in this game. Looked like he had trouble corralling rebounds and Jonas V. continually outmuscled him for position down low as the game progressed it seemed (not that he got tossed around out there--he didn't--just was expecting a little more in this area than what he showed). Still showed plenty of good things out there, esp. early on, starting with that post game. He's intriguing -- can't wait to see more.

Willy will make the Spanish team. Marc Gasol is out.
Good experience for the kid!!! Will further season him.
