...and how typical is it for the low key Duncan to shun the final year fanfare and adulation Kobe ate up and simply walk into the Texas sunset alone.

An old school throwback persona and player.

Arguable the best recent player for KP to emulate in terms of how an athlete should carry himself.

The Big Fundamental! One of the greats, no doubt. MVP of the last Finals the Knicks were in. I won't hold it against him.

Still think we would have won that series if Ewing didn't get injured vs Indiana the battle would have been a lot more equal.

It's a shame that didn't happen in the finals

He is representing the era of basketball and it is over.
Our days NBA is more of reality show that sport.

here's my top 15 as of now (and yes titles-- especially *leading* a team to titles-- is a significant factor in my opinion.)

He was no Channing Frye, but Duncan was still a class act, who helped move the league forward after Jordan retired. Have fun Timmay!

That was Duncan's 2nd year. Spurs lost to Utah in the second round his rookie year.

I still hate VanGundy for starting Chris Dudley in that series. Talk about playing short; that was as close to playing 4 on 5 as you could get.

Watched Georgia Tech with Marbles vs Timmy in the second of Timmy's ACC championships in 1996 back in the day when ACC was great and that championship was meaningful.
Nalod was in the Arena to watch this game. Man, 20 years!!!!

Holy **** - Duncan's career plus/minus is exactly +10,000

He out scored opponents by TEN THOUSAND POINTS for his career.

Interesting, solid list. Last year shooting the **** with friends I came up with my All Time Starting Five with positional/chemistry consideration and they are all right at the top of your list:

PG: Lebron, SG: Jordan, SF: Bird, PF: Duncan, C: Russell

Proof that tanking can have benefits, especially when an organization knows what is doing (vs. Hinkie).
