Remains to be seen if we have any albatross contracts. We had more players to grow with before the trade and didnt get much for them considering the current market.

As for Lupica, he fully supported the trade for Rose, but even he said that it was a desperation move. Desperation moves are more often than not risky. Some of us wonder if this sudden change of course will put us in cap hell down the road just when KP is coming into his own. Some may dismiss the idea that this will happen outright, but that is usually what happens when you take a win now approach, at some point you have to pay the piper.

Knicks could do well enough to get Westbrook interested, some good things could come out of this, but there are definitely risks. Going to enjoy the ride anyway.

That's right. Noah's contract can easily turn into an albatross contract for two 2-3 years. We went after big names by sacrificing healthy players that were starting to grow. Plus we gave up all our cap space, and we will maybe get to a second round exit. Choosing excitement for the short term vs. organic growth and sustainable improvement is what defines starfukking in my opinion.

I like Hirnacek and expect good things from him, but I am not ready to assign greatness to him, yet.

Noah's contract could be an albatross from day 1 if he gets hurt or doesn't contribute.

The only thing I think you can give Kudos to Phil are are turning over the roster once again - I didn't think he could, but he did.

Whether that becomes a good or bad thing won't fully be known for 2-3 years.

he didn't say anything negative. All he said is that he isn't sure hornacek is a great coach which is fair. I actually like hornacek but its way too early to make tat statement on him. Truthfully there are very few great coaches. Greg Popovich is one I can think of that is a GREAT coach and has a track record that is impressive. I think you misinterpret people trying to be objective with negativity sometimes. Not everything has to be 200% positive all the time. Most people are very happy with the offseason

When the poster used great it was a figure of speech not saying Hornacek was Greg popovich. You guys need to get some sleep or something. Metamucil or something

I've taken a lot of heat on here for backing Phil from the beginning even when some of his moves/trades didn't work out (Calderon) but he didn't do what every other GM we've had always did which would be doing everything they could to build a winning team right away by signing vets and trading our draft picks. Phil came in and in his first year he got rid of the bad people and bad contracts knowing that year would be an absolute bust and that he was gonna take serious heat from the New York media and fans. In his second year he re-signed our star player in Melo, drafted what will be our future star/franchise player in KP and added some nice pieces on good contracts and didn't trade any future picks around the trade deadline when other teams were asking for our draft picks and/or W.Hermangomez when Phil was trying to make a trade two to make this team better which with any past GM we had they would have traded whatever they could just to get something right then because there was no patience, Phil thought last years team would make the playoffs at the 8th or 7th seed and so didn't i and many fans. So now we're in year three for Phil and he's decided to go for it with players that have question marks which he and his team realizes that most of the players he has brought in so far has question marks with either injury issues or age or being past their time and not as good a player as they were but they all have serious upside as well and if we can just get some luck to go our way, just a little, we could really be a threat in the eastern conference for a 2nd/3rd or 4th seed or whatever seed it is but if things can go right for us we'll be a fun team to watch next year and could really make some noise in the playoffs.

The point is that Phil did things the right way and sat back and took all the crap from the media these last two years to get to this point of being able to build a legit team in New York which is something we haven't had in a while and we have all of our 1st round picks going forward, we have a young franchise player in KP that in 3/4 years when the Melo's and the Noah's and the Rose's will be ready to move on we can build around him with all the money we'll have from the vets leaving and draft picks to build around him with.

The future is now and is bright for our New York Knicks!!!!!!!!!!!!!
