- Reinvigorated lineup with fantastic potential 1-5
- No albatross contracts
- Balance of 'win now' with vets AND 'grow for the future' with KP6
- We own ALL our 1st round picks moving forward (no more starphucking)
- We have a great new coach
- We are building a culture that values system ball over ISO ball
- NY is again a place players want to play
The NY press is full of smug, arrogant [fill in the blanks] like Lupica and crew, but we know the real deal and Phil has worked magic since he's been here. Thank you Phil!
Remains to be seen if we have any albatross contracts. We had more players to grow with before the trade and didnt get much for them considering the current market.
As for Lupica, he fully supported the trade for Rose, but even he said that it was a desperation move. Desperation moves are more often than not risky. Some of us wonder if this sudden change of course will put us in cap hell down the road just when KP is coming into his own. Some may dismiss the idea that this will happen outright, but that is usually what happens when you take a win now approach, at some point you have to pay the piper.
Knicks could do well enough to get Westbrook interested, some good things could come out of this, but there are definitely risks. Going to enjoy the ride anyway.
