Durant may be a long shot but I think adding Noah is a very high degree of probability. His game would fit well in the Knicks new style and roster. His ability to run the floor and pass would be great and his passion on D would be very important.

We are certainly compounding injury risk. Noah's offensive numbers appear to be in decline. His passing is upper tier and that hasnt really changed. But can he be more than a 20 min guy? This becomes just a function of cost. How much would you pay Noah? I like your quants... if Lopez was $13mm last year, what is Noah this year? You know I gonna spin wit it

His presence in the locker room, practice floor and in the ear of the team during games is very valuable. He is PERFECT to help mentor Willy and KP. I put a HIGH value on that. |

nixluva wrote:Sheed was cheap. Noah wont be cheap. Its more than just money. You tie up your cap in Noah with (another) guy who is hurt all the time and you miss out on a loaded FA crop the following year.EwingsGlass wrote:nixluva wrote:Durant may be a long shot but I think adding Noah is a very high degree of probability. That means on average he misses a month and half of games every year. If we added another young and durable guy like Batum this is much easier to stomach. If we are counting on both Rose/Noah to have good years well you can ask Bull fan's how that has worked out "winning is more fun... then fun is fun" -Thibs

And, right now, lopez is a much better player than noah (who btw, was my favorite player in the NBA in his prime). so here is what phil is thinking ....

If Noah is the remainder after signing a key SG, I'm ok. But if he is the key offseason pickup at $20mm the pricing can be heavy. Did Andy Greer take a defensiv e position yet? You know I gonna spin wit it

I really don't like Noah's game. I would rather go after Horford.

Honestly, I wish we could have gotten Rose without losing the Freak-version Lopez we had last year, but this trade is almost all upside. Rolo was great, but even with health issues at the forefront, if you don't think Rose and Noah > Rolo and Grant, you need to find a new board to troll on. |

Right in the article you have a quote from a "source close to Noah" saying anyone who thinks the decision will be about money is off-base. Noah comes from an extremely wealthy NYC family. He doesn't need money, necessarily. Could the Knicks get him for $10M a year?... we shall seeeeee. ¿ △ ?
