Lol have you been to Minnesota it's a ugly cold flat place and not a lot of players wanna go there
Tibs will have a little run with the young talent that's there... But when that young talent becomes free agents like Toronto chances are they go to bigger markets... Again minny is ugly cold flat and desolate outside the city limits. The only thing that minny has is food and a handful of restaurants hot dish, Borders, Polish deli, and a few lakes

Not a hope in hell he ends up with us. I'm interested if JVG ends up as coach somewhere- wonder if he goes for the Rockets job

Berman said Thibs used to work in Minny for Musselman. Bottom line is we're not interested in him, Twolves are and they are offering him everything he wants.

I think Phil would be making a huge mistake by not giving tibs a call . I'm sure they know each other, tibs was a assistant with the Knicks for a long time and all coaches know eachother... I thought phils statement of "I'm only going to talk to coaches I know" was taken the wrong way cause Phil knows everyone

It's pretty clear that Thibs wants full control, don't think the Knicks are looking for that

Stan Van Gundy just got the same deal in Detroit and it was worked pretty well so far.

Thibs is the same level as SVG, not out of the realm for him to ask.

Agreed but we have the zen master running the show... So that offer in ny is out of the question

That'd be a great hire for Minnesota. And a smart move for Thibs. Minnesota has the potential to be a very very very very good team. I hope Thibs doesn't run Towns, Wiggins, and LaVine into the ground.

There are so many better options for guys like Thibs than NYK, especially with Phil being stubborn about the Triangle.

Don't blame him. Minnesota has the makings of a dynasty in the making. 3 or 4 years of organic growth and adding key pieces before making real noise.

Thibs getting unilateral control over that team is a no brainer, really. Good for him, a good guy and good coach and can install his system and bring his type of guys. Despite being the best coaching candidate out there, he'd never get the amount of control on the Knicks. He'd forever be looking over his shoulder getting scrutinized daily by the Phil, Mills, Dolan, and the NY media.

thibs is not getting that kind of control, I believe phil wanted the same control prior to The bulls not re-ing up on his contract, and Jordan retiring

One report said Minny wants to give the next coach that control. Also, they are using the same agency the Pistons used when they hired SVG.

It's a smart move by the Wolves. They'll be in the playoffs next season if they hire Thibs.

Really reckless of Phil to be running a Triangle workshop instead of at least reaching out to the best coach available.
