afflalo is ranked 36th in defensive real plus minus among starting shooting guards who play 24 or more minutes a night according to espn. he is a HORRIFIC defender and should not be starting!!

AFFLALO NEEDS TO BE BENCHED AND HAVE HIS MINUTES CUT TO LESS THAN 24 MPG.

calderon is ranked 27th in defensive real plus minus among starting point guards according to espn. he can't stay in front of anyone and he can't fight over picks. moreover he can't lead a fast break.

CALDERON NEEDS TO SLIDE OVER TO THE SHOOTING GUARD POSITION.

galloway is ranked 15th in defensive real plus minus among shooting guards who play 24 or more minutes a night according to espn. he has the speed to lead fast breaks.

GALLOWAY NEEDS TO BE INSERTED INTO THE STARTING LINEUP AS THE TRIANGLE POINT GUARD AND PLAY 30 MPG.

by making these simple moves, the front-court players will not be compromised.

knicks win 38-43 games in 16-17. rose MUST shoot no more than 14 shots per game, defer to kp6 + melo, and have a usage rate of less than 25%

I don't have an issue with that. I would go with Grant and Jose to start, use AA to score off the bench. Let Grant play through some mistakes

I just worry about Jose being reluctant to shoot. Two point guards on the floor at the same time has worked well for the Knicks in the past. Gallo, Afflalo off the bench could be a nice look for the second unit. Also, it might be smart to try and have either KP or Rolo at the 5 at all times. O'Quinn/Seraphin aren't rotation players in my opinion.

so basically get a new backcourt!

Knicks should be improved: win about 40 games and maybe sneak into the playoffs. Melo, Rose and even Noah will have some nice moments however this team should be about PORZINGUS. the sooner they make him the primary player, the better

The thing about moving Jose to SG, especially if he is to start, is that defensively SG's typically run around a million picks all over the court. No way Jose can keep up with players like that. AA runs hard, not smart, but hard all over the place.

it's the lesser of two evils. i'd rather cut down on penetration into the lane and allow jumpshots if given the choice. coincidentally, calderon is a very good shooter and the triangle needs guys who can shoot-- one reason you can't play grant that much just yet. you have to find ways to hide flaws while exploiting strengths. meanwhile galloway is a very good shooter and a better defender than afflalo, who is just not working out, and whose attitude seems to have gone south. galloway can also push the ball, something we have been lacking. how many fast breaks has afflalo run this year?

At the time there were questions about Kyle Lowrey and either Shump or TJHjr were not hindsight disappointments.
How many draft picks can we provide Toronto anyway?

In the end Lowrey turned up his game and maturity level, but three years ago they were in question.
Dolan was right to veto the trade based what they had to go on at that time.

In hindsight, I would ok unless we don't draft KP because we finished 6th worst last year, and in 2018 what would we have had by then? Lowrey old, Melo old and who did we draft last year?

Time and motion is hard to really project if the trade would have been good for us LONG TERM. This team can't be fixed.
We'll finish about 32 wins which was expected by many. Our back court did not progress.

PHil and Co. have done some good things but we missed this year with Grant and Galloway not progressing as one would have hoped. Its not like they were not given an opportunity!

Uhm nope. Grant definitely was not given an opportunity and was continually in Fisher's mystery dog house. I guess Grant's girl didn't want to sleep with Fisher too...

Grant started 0 games for the Knicks and averaged 16 minutes in the 53 games he was allowed to cameo in.

It's like the Knicks were trying to compete for a ring with Calderon as starter instead of develop their first round draft pick...JUST STUPIDITY AT ITS HIGHEST.
