Asked about Fisher’s sentiments, Afflalo said, “Each his own on how you put your perspective and expectations on it. We all want to win. How we go about it for how we verbalize it is different. I’m more straightforward about the things I want. It is a process. The effort is important. We’re staying in games, not getting blown out and not competing. Now it’s translating that into wins.’’

why?

if words ruin this team then this team (or any team) wasnt good enough to begin with

Knicks should be improved: win about 40 games and maybe sneak into the playoffs. Melo, Rose and even Noah will have some nice moments however this team should be about PORZINGUS. the sooner they make him the primary player, the better

“No. Disappointed in what?” Fisher asked. “We’re a developing team with a ton of new players. There are not a lot of elite teams that are depending on rookies to carry the day. So … We have to be reasonable about who we are and where we are and accept what is and not get caught up in what we should be and allow other people to define what our success is.”

Do you actually think the vets want to hear that type of talk?????

Tyson bailed out two years ago when he heard something similar. That quote isn't the damning one though.

The focus on the process is more important than the result

Yes, our coach actually said this.

It is demoralizing to hear as a warrior. The idea is always to go out and win or compete for a championship. It is one thing to say the things that fisher said at the end of the season, but not while guys are trying to win games

If you can't see how demoralizing and destructive those words are, you don't really know what it takes to win. We disagree about many, but even you need to put your pompoms for fisher down and criticize him for those words.

these are professionals. most likely theyre losing cuz theyre not talented. not cuz of words.

what will we say when they get on a winning streak?

Tyson bailed the previous year when he was destroyed in the playoffs and then 'called out' his teammates. He spent the following year backstabbing Woodson and trying to get him fired. How is his team leader act playing out in Phoenix?

Luke Walton showed that Kerr's impact was minimal.

I don't think Kerr would be doing better with the talent Fisher has had in 15-16 or 16-17.

Most of what goes on in GS is about the players! Kerr inherited a playoff team that was loaded! How can that situation be compared in any way to what Kerr would have had here in NY? Kerr may have done a better job here or not! We'll never know.

All I know is before the recent rash of injuries Fish had these players improving. Also despite the losses this team is still fighting hard and having a chance to win these games. Fish is far from perfect but a lot of the issues have nothing to do with Fish. Unless you wanna blame him for missed shots late in games.

OP should have simply bumped one of his many threads with similar "F'n Fisher!" themes.

At some point the repetition gets to be a bit dizzying...and somewhat boring, IMO.

EnySpree: Can we agree to agree not to mention Phil Jackson and triangle for the rest of our lives?

You need to really take a few minutes and think about how far you're taking your hatred of Fisher cause you're now at the point where you're taking EVERY single thing small or big that happens with the Knicks and trying your hardest to find ways to turn it on Fisher to make him look bad. It's really getting way out of control by you and like 4/5 other posters on here. He's not a great coach we all realize that but the problem is that besides you 4/5 posters the rest of us see that it's not as bad as you guys make him out to be. Most can see that he doesn't have the greatest situation and that there's more to it then what you guys see. To spend every single minute you post on this board finding ways to hate on Fisher and not be able to enjoy the things that we do have going for us must be a horrible way to spend all of your time. Why don't you guys just go with the flow here and let everything work itself out?? We have a very smart man in charge of this roster and who's coaching it so just let it run it's course and see if when we get Melo and KP the right help if Fisher can be able to coach them to something positive cause no matter how much whining and crying you guys do on a message board about Fisher (and it's a huge amount of time) he's still gonna be the coach until Phil doesn't think he's the right guy for the job. Good luck with that but what Fisher said will not effect the team at all in no way what so ever.

We were on a winning steak up until Melo stepped on the refs foot and i distinctly remember posting on these boards how it was so much quieter cause the Fisher hate just disappeared at that time because we were playing really good but that all disappeared and i don't think Fisher changed the way he was coaching or talking to his players it was just that we missed Melo and the players might have let his loss get in their heads and now they just can't find their way again. D.Williams was playing great for us at that time but we haven't seen that from him that much since, L.Thomas was wowing us with the way he was playing especially with his offensive game but when was the last time we've seen Lance have a big offensive game?? It's been a while. KP until our game Friday night wasn't playing that well for us cause of his illness and maybe hitting the rookie wall, KOQ, Seraphin and J.Grant haven't played good at all lately or even more than lately with those three cause it's been a long while, Jose was out for what 4 or 5 games so that was a big change and although Gallo played alright in those starts we didn't win one of the games that Jose was out for and this is what Fisher has to coach?? It's a tough job not having much talent especially when your best players are either hurt or not playing good.

The process when executed will lead to results.
Players want to win. Players say what most want to hear. Only the gullible take quotes literal.

Knicks1969, if Phil has problem with Fish and his statement he'll deal with it, not you or public opinion so molded by the snit infested media.
Why not read Phils books and learn that not all his championship teams got the triangle leading to a early playoff loss, or it took late in the season before the light went off.

The team is inconsistent, but that means they do get it at times.
Rookies are inconsistent. We have two.
Young players are inconsistent, we have Gallo.
New players need time to learn, we got a bunch.

Kerr took a team that won 55 games and worked from there. Good for him. Phil took a team that won 37 an saw it was in decline and blew it up.

The redundant Rainman act is getting old.

Wow we really do disagree cause i watched the game last night and they showed him talking in a time out and all he was saying was stuff like "hey we're finally getting a challenge at home" and he said a couple other things but he didn't say much at all cause you don't have to coach that team. L.Walton had that team playing just as good as Kerr has which just shows how much ANYONE anyone can coach this team, ANYONE. It's not a coincidence that two different coaches that have never coached before has this team winning and i already know what you'll say to this but i'd put my left arm on this....D.Fisher would have them playing just as well as Kerr and Walton have them playing. No doubt in my mind about that.

Hellz no he wouldn't. The GSW's team shows how it's a players league, if you don't have the player you're gonna have a tough time winning and if you do have the players then it's not gonna matter too much who the coach is cause you're gonna win. Now i don't wanna say that these teams don't need a coach cause someone has to make them practice hard and make substitutions and other things but without a good team of players...................................

Coahing is done at practice, done at training camp, its a cultural and the team is running the same sets while Kerr is in the background as well.

Good for Walton an the GSW but lets be real, not anyone can step in and just coach, but an assistant can if he keeps things the same.

Fisher's words the other day will prove to be detrimental
