LOL. I can't remember the last time a major free agent willingly signed with the Knicks (Melo don't count, that was a trade). I guess Amare. LJ, Houston, and Childs? I wouldn't hold my breath...

How about Defensive player of the year and NBA Champion Tyson Chandler

Carmelo forced his way to the Knicks

Amar'e signed here

KP also changes the game for us. The Knicks now have two major pieces - any player in the NBA knows Melo is very very good and that KP can soon be very very good. They know Phil Jackson.

The Knicks will be players in free agency.

Last year I cautioned people that the Knicks would have a rough free agency. People here were saying Draymond Green and Danny Green and Jimmy Butler and I was like "no way, not happening."

This year we can be players. We can add one really good player and keep most of our current pieces.

I think we can definitely legit add Conley or Batum.

I don't think Durant is coming here, we're not getting a megastar. But we can get a near all-star who may wind up making an all-star team while he's with the Knicks. Which is all you can ask.

I am not sure why people would get overly excited about what he said. No smart player will cut off their leverage during contract negotiations. The more competition Memphis has for Conley's services the more they are likely to pay him.

When was the last time a FA said they wouldn't consider NY? Always BS- most recently Carroll and Greg Monroe

It won't matter who we have as a player; until we strengthen our coaching staff, we will always be a subpar ball club. Good coaches can help a marginal team get over the hump. I am not by any means advocating to FIRE Fisher, nor that I wouldn't mind if he is let go. I want to see a reputable partner on the bench to guide him.

Reputable= a former head coach who endured success in the league. Newyork4ever or Nalod, please don't cite Rambis, because he has not won shizznit as a "head" coach

Thank God Fisher is no longer our coach, now let's get Calderon out of here:)

If we landed Batum, I would be beyond ecstatic. Would provide the Knicks with a true elite long wing player that Jackson always had on his teams, and they wouldn't have to break the bank to get him.

Afflalo for his decent showings here and there and black holedness is simply not that long term wing guy at 30 and 6'4.

I believe Conley wants to see what the Knicks do this summer , and hear about their plans, before even considering the Knicks as a destination.

Conley will be in memphis next season, why on earth would he sign here to play in a system that has PGs looking awful

~Common sense

I thought it was reported that Memphis has no interest of letting go of Gasol, Randolph and Conley anytime soon.

Conley would be foolish to PUBLICLY rule out the knicks. Rule #1 for any free agent is to always get the knicks involved so they can UP THE PRICE. when Zach randolph was asked about Conley going to NYC: he laughed out loud and said hes not going to the knicks
Knicks should be improved: win about 40 games and maybe sneak into the playoffs. Melo, Rose and even Noah will have some nice moments however this team should be about PORZINGUS. the sooner they make him the primary player, the better

All he said was that he's not committed to anything. It's not like he said that the Knicks are an option. He basically said what any free agent trying to get the biggest contract possible will say.

Conley will con NY. He, like all other big name players, will pull an okey doke on us. Baby would he join this purgatory of a system? Knicks need to aim at Teague, and spend the money to acquire a slashing SG

I do not like his game at all. I don't think he fits what we trying to do. This forum could run his fan club though

Tyson had no bidders and Amare had nobody as stupid as us.

so here is what phil is thinking ....
