Nobody is gonna be able to say what our record would be if we had I.Thomas. I know people are gonna wanna say that all the games that we lost by single digit points we would of won if we had Thomas but that's not how it works. So in my opinion which means nothing i would add 7/8 wins.

Actually it's one of the more relevant questions. The premise is to improve and like a picture you ask what can I add to this to make it great?

Yeah, exactly. I'd probably add closer to 4 wins, though.

Here's my thesis.
Let's be a seller here at the deadline anything we lose we should be able to get back with free agency money.
I think the missing piece to this team is Kay felder I think he's going to be a star and brings almost everything we don't have. I think he can make kritaps much better and seems to have great character I think he's Isiah Thomas 2 but with better pg skills. If we can trade for a 2016 first rd pick we can promise it to him as long as he does not workout for any other teams. I think this is much more doable than actually trying to trade for someone with the same talent level( the way I see it)

Where do you come up with this stuff?? You can't just predict a college kid is gonna be this great player in the NBA when it's been proven over and over that many many of these kids that have great college careers never make it in the NBA even though they're projected by the so called experts that they will be and you've proven to be wrong about many many players that you projected to be great as well and we'll all be hearing you talk about another 25 players after this season.

Interesting timing...

I recall that in the Boston/GS game where Boston almost ended the GS streak before the Bucks' game, Thomas was the guy who lost the game for them with some terrible play and decision making on the offensive end.

We can do this type of "exercise" with any player by the way...not sure why we would do such a thing with a guy signed until 2018.

I assume that the concept of the thread is to look at what a certain "type" of player -in this case a small PG- can do for the Knicks at this point.

Thomas has never been on a team that finished with a winning record, for what it is worth...although it looks like it will happen this year.

For all any of us know Grant may become a difference maker for us next year.

I don't mind having a smaller change of pace PG on the roster...although you always have to worry about the defensive problems associated with such players.

Not sure how Thomas would fit in with the present Knicks' team, by the way, since he seems to need the ball to be effective...not sure he gets that kind of opportunity with this team.

EnySpree: Can we agree to agree not to mention Phil Jackson and triangle for the rest of our lives?

I think people in general overestimate the impact of one player. Don't forget that 4 wins is almost a .100 point increase in winning percentage.

knicks win 38-43 games in 16-17. rose MUST shoot no more than 14 shots per game, defer to kp6 + melo, and have a usage rate of less than 25%

wouldn't 8 wins be a .1 point increase in winning percentage (based upon 82 games)?

I like a lot of your musings and observations, but this one doesn't fly. It doesn't take in account the games that Anthony didn't play in or the actions of other players on each team.

No I get what you are saying. It's not player vs player comparison per se it's discounting the potential role of a certain type of player. Also anyone who think Thomas is just another little quick pg hasn't watched him

Yeah but I think he's asking about the record right now, which is based on 49 games.

Why not? This stuff is just for recreation. And Briggs has done a good job at least introducing us to fresh faces in the college ranks.

carmelo missed 6 games and the knicks lost every single one of those games. with anthony they win 3 out of those 6, making the record 26-23.

what's the point of your fantasy here anyway? he's a HORRIBLE fit in the triangle-- his usage is way too high for a point guard-- and this is his third team in 5 seasons.

poor defender + ball-dominant shrimp = 0 extra wins.

knicks win 38-43 games in 16-17. rose MUST shoot no more than 14 shots per game, defer to kp6 + melo, and have a usage rate of less than 25%

"potential role" for isiaiah thomas in the triangle is on the bench sulking... with a marbury towel over his head LOL
