Just looking to the general temperature. Do you think Phil will make a trade before the trade deadline in three-four weeks?

Bonus question - what would the move be?

Yes, the Knicks will make a trade.
No, they'll stand pat and wait for the summer.

I'm on the fence. I could see Seraphin or even O'Quinn being moved for a 2/3.

We need a backcourt... Affalo is not consistent enough. Galloway either for that matter. It's not all on Calderón.

Any realistic options?

I could too. We only need one of them. O'Quinn takes up more salary. It would suck to trade him cuz of his family connection. Business is business though.

Kevin Martin from Minnesota would be great but the Knicks just don't have the contacts to trade. Seraphin and Derrick would work, but I don't want to trade Derrick away now.

We need to find ways to turn Early, Seraphin and Calderon into an asset

I am believing to think that he will. Only because we look like we are 1 player away from making a serious run at the 6,7 or 8 spot in the playoffs. Playoffs is key this year for the developmental of KP and Melo's sanity.

I think KOQ stays. He's a NY native and a long and reasonable deal. In the new cap he costs pennies and gives you nice depth as a backup or injury insurance. He has some skills, I hope he continues to work and show he can be a late bloomer.

Seraphin seems most likely to go.

I think so but just don't know if a big move or small move. Probably a smaller move cause he wants money for free agency.

There's so many players that can be traded for that none of us would know about. All teams are always looking to either make their team better or trying to get rid of certain players because of their contracts or whatever else. Every year players are traded that nobody saw coming or even thought those players were on the market.

I wouldn't trade DW straight up for K.Martin cause we could do better than him for DW but i would trade DW for the right return which for me would either be a point guard, combo guard or 1st round pick.

I comb the league all the time.... I don't see anyone that the Knicks can get via trade. These nba teams are known for making stupid moves so you never know. Still if you look at every team, there literally no moves to make

I hope to God that he's smart enough to package Calderon, Early and O'Quinn to the Clippers for Lance Stephenson's expirer, CJ Wilcox and some 2nd rounders. That move would give us an additional $11 million of cap space to keep guys that factor heavily into our rotation (Galloway, Thomas, Williams and Afflalo), while still acquiring a game changing free agent.

....and for all those exhalting Tony Wroten, how could you not support the bigger, stronger and more talented version with experience playing in the triangle?

I don't even understand how you can say that when there's no way of any of us knowing just who teams are willing to trade?? If Phil decides to offer up a future 1st round pick along with a DW or L.Thomas or R.Lopez i can almost guarantee you that teams that weren't thinking about trading certain players before will think about it if they know they can get a 1st round pick or a young player that has plenty of upside. Now i don't see Phil messing with trading any of our future 1st round picks cause he seems pretty set on keeping our 1st rounders to keep building with but if some one offered him a point guard that he knows is the type of player that could help us right away and in the future then he might think differently about it. Some PG's that i could see a team think about putting on the block would be R.Rubio, J.Holliday, B.Jennings, J.Clarkson, J.Teague or D.Schroeder. I'm not saying all these guys are fits for us but i think most of them can definitely fit what we're trying to do and i'm not saying that these teams would even trade these guys so all of you that are ready to jump all over my comments please note that all i'm doing is assuming and i have no idea about most anything that i've said so back up. It really just depends on if Phil wants to make a significant change this year or if he'd rather wait until the off season. Phil has a plan which none obviously know so all we can do is sit and wait and watch. I trust Phil will build a team that can not only compete for deep playoff runs but for championships, the only problem is it could take anywhere from 1 to 3 years to get it done.

I'm pretty confident that they will make a deal for a PG.

I'm expecting it will be for the likes of a DJ Augustine, Shelvin Mack, M-Chalmers type player --- something that doesn't cost us a great deal and doesn't necessarily jeopardize our $$$ going into the summer.

I could see KOQ potentially being moved and yes maybe even J-Grant.

I also think we may add a FA guard like a Wroten or T-Murry type.

M.Chalmers is a good one cause he's a UFA after this year so they could look to get something for him if they think they're gonna lose him in the off season so it shouldn't take much to get him and when Conley was out for like 4/5 games not too long ago he played really well and he has good size which as we know Phil likes from his PG's.
