I really like Afflalo's game, he has showed how efficient he is with his shooting. He rarely takes poor shots the Knicks have been missing this type of efficient perimeter player for a long time. He does everything well. His post game is great to watch and he is almost always guaranteed to get a good shot off. The Knicks haven't had this kind of steadiness at the SG position since dare I say the Houston, Spree and Starks days. The major reason I like Double A is his game has a throw back flavor to it.

I am glad that some are finally seing the true worth of this dude. He is smart, agile, athletic, and can defend. His ability to complement Carmelo will make the Knicks a much better team. We need a second guard like AA.
Thank God Fisher is no longer our coach, now let's get Calderon out of here:)

He's really good. Doesn't try to do too much and is just good enough to make other teams pay for overplaying Melo and KP, the two guys opposing teams focus on stopping. AA isn't great at anything, but he's pretty good at everything, can post, mid range is great, pull ups, floaters, streaky from 3 but knows when to stop taking them and attack and he's a good defender, not great but good. Really like him. Seems like a great locker room dude.

14ppg and his shooting is right at his career high. He's getting a ton of good looks and has been a fan of the triangle as well. Great signing.

You know he's make like $2mm less than Shumpert? AA has twice the skill set and half the attitude. Great signing

Oh man you hit the nail on the head. While Shump and JR were all attitude and lacked the true luster which is about basketball. AA is all about basketball and I find that to be refreshing a guy who isn't worrying about marketing himself with a throw back afro or clubbing to 4am drinking and cavorting with women with a game the next day, on Twitter 24-7.

AA puts the pro in professional, basketball is his job and it looks like, he is dedicated to the game refreshing to say the least.

Totally agree.

And it's a good point that AA's game opened up a lot once teams started overplaying KP. That's great team ball. Now if a team overplays AA, hopefully Melo or KP can benefit.

He has always been a great post player over the years ranking very high in points per possession on post touches. I'd my memory is right he was down right elite.

This offense is what I expected. His problem is defense. He was always a good complementary offensive player outside of last year. I would like to see him pass more and in the past he has been able to avg around 3 ast per game. Improving his assists and getting to the line more would jump his offense even more.

Also, I would like to comend him for posting career highs in rebounds.

Yeah, heading into last night AA was averaging 1.26 pts per post up possession and shooting 66% on post ups. Elite numbers.

The way he is playing off Melo and KP shows a smart player in AA, good recognition from Melo and KP, and a good scheme from Fisher.

Re: the rebounds, I've noticed with Rolo playing less KP's rebounds are down and AA's are up. I think KP is doing the box out work Rolo had been doing and now AA is benefitting instead of KP on the rebound numbers. But the important thing is the team is boxing out and getting the rebound. For the first time in years, I feel like we are seeing true team work from this team.

AA > JR. Wondering how much time AA and JR will spend matched up against each other when we play Cleveland soon. We need him to stay healthy.

I'm more worried about Calderon on Kyrie for that game. Kyrie supposedly returning today.

That's true, but I'm not worried about AA matched up against JR, not at all. I just think it should be fun to watch.
But yeah, let's see how good Kyrie looks. Maybe he'll be a little shaky and Calderon can actually give him a bit of a hard time. That would be awesome hahaaa.

Hard for 1969 to admit this, perhaps.

Aflalo really uses our offensive scheme well. Moves around a lot, and he's been pretty deadly with the midrange shots and the short fall-aways which are becoming a trademark shot for him.

I still don't think he's in the best shape he can be in- I think he can be even better for us as the season progresses.

Where would this team be in terms of record if Anthony had been all the way back at the beginning of the season and Aflalo had not been injured?... 16-12...17-11?

He's had that scorers swag. I'm impressed. I never looked at affalo as a scorer. He's looked like that's what he been doing his whole career. His fade away is mean. He goes to it every time and they can't stop him. Very old school.

System scorer, that feels right to me.

Cant compare a 31 year old and a 21 year old, as far as maturity goes. AA is acting his age. When he was 21, social media wasn't the same.

AA is a professional, a high character guy who knows how to play. He has taken advantage of the opportunities the system provides. His spots in this system mirror Jordan's, mid range post ups.

His Kobeesque style of play + his efficiency from midrange was bound to fit our system like a glove. I am glad to have him here.

I feel like he's the best all around SG we've had since we traded Spree. (Houston barely played again after the Spree trade, so basically since the days of Houston/Spree)
