So when some of the most fervent hockey fans in the world could spend nothing and still make an impact on the sport, they went all out. Girgensons led the NHL all-star voting from the get-go and finished ahead of Jonathan Toews, Patrick Kane, Sidney Crosby, Alex Ovechkin and everyone else with 1,574,896 votes. |

Yup, as I say, neither Curry or James got that much. If KP just receives just that many votes, and KP is better known and has a high profile as an NBA player than Girgensons had as an NHL player, he'll start for the East. Lightning may not strike twice, but it's entirely possible… and I think the NBA would love it. |

I can see a country like Latvia being big with hockey, is it same with basketball? Official sponsor of the PURE KNICKS LOVE Program

I don't know… but does Girgensons have a rap song? |

I believe Yao was voted in as a rookie for the start over Shaq and might have even said its good for the sport.martin wrote:bigbasketballs wrote:matt wrote:http://www.thestar.com/sports/hockey/2015/01/21/girgensons-nhl-all-star-berth-shows-latvias-passion-for-hockey.htmlSo when some of the most fervent hockey fans in the world could spend nothing and still make an impact on the sport, they went all out. But we can live the quadruple rookie game, 3 pt contest, slam dunk contest, main game dream. |

He's earned it already. He should represent the Knicks as one of the best Power Forwards in the East, and the Knicks best player. http://insider.espn.go.com/nba/hollinger/statistics/_/position/pf/league/east |

Milsap, Bosh, and then a lot of this group- http://insider.espn.go.com/nba/hollinger/statistics/_/position/c/league/east Remember, starters aren't picked by position, just front court and back court. I doubt Bosh or Milsap get voted on, so they're ahead in the coach's selection pecking order for 4s. Be awesome if voted in as that's what the game is all about and I'm all for that, but hard to make a case on selection by merit, particularly on PER as you seem to be offering it as your case. They'll be many, many years to come for that. Or he could explode and lap a few of the others before the game. |

I'm not sure who the second guard will be... Milsap and Bosh and Drummond aren't household names so that isn't a roadblock wise. Love is the only potential starter that might give KP trouble. Merit wise, Only Drummond with his 19 double doubles has an edge over Kristaps. KP has the edge in most other categories. If he can beat Love and Drummond vote wise, then he'll be one of the starters at F. If he continues his torrid pace of late, he'll be voted on as a reserve regardless. Somehow his Field goal percentage jumped up to 46% from 40%!!!! |
