Clearly these 2 are thinking way to much, there not playing free and lively like the were in SL. Galloway has lost all of his confidence, and grant has no room to penetrate because the triangle keeps the center in the post all the time, and we don't run enough.

We run to get into our half court offense, even on a 3 on 2 situation.

Fisher complicated the game a little too much for Grant. The kid is at his best when the tempo is quicker. They had him on the floor with Sraphin who is not an uptempo guy. Seraphin is a half court dude who always look to shoot the ball; even when he can be a decent passer when he wants. A good coach would make it a point to tell this dude to swing the ball around and shoot only wit less then 6 seconds on the clock.

Galloway is struggling due to the lack of spacing.

Thank God Fisher is no longer our coach, now let's get Calderon out of here:)

Jerian Grant needs the D league to learn how to shoot the ball. Guys like Trice Ferdete are down there hoisting 20 in game situations. Thats what Jerian needs.

Right now Galloway is a guy who might need to sit unless he has a dramatic swing. The complimentary players are not doing the job and Lopez is close to a bust for what we paid.

Interesting take from Cuban

Cuban said he loved the Knicks draft. He said the Mavs would have taken point guard Jerian Grant at No. 21 if he fell. He also praised the Knicks second-round pick center Willy Hernangomez of the Spanish League who is expected to join the Knicks next season. …

Keep playing thru it at the NBA level and either swim or sink.

IF the team has hit a wall making changes is not always the answer.
Who was on the floor during the knicks late run?

Jose started terrible. Now he's playing very well but its Galloway that has totally falled off.

Rome wasnt built in a day.

I don't know if one can say that Jose is playing very well; he might be doing better then before. He is still a reluctant shooter; and still a terrible defender.

youre just not watching. He's played very well. He always takes care of the ball. He shooting very well, and he's making a lot of plays. Problem isnt Jose right now... its the bench. Jose's defense has also been fine. I mean what is your expectation? Gary Payton? Jose has been fine and is doing what we need him to do. Team just need to play better overall. Most of the signs are pretty positive to be honest.

agreed. Jose has played very well. He is not perfect. He misses KP a lot (but we are all super sensitive to that) and still has a really hard time getting over picks, but his shot has been money and he really protects the ball.

Also, I love that he has been getting really mad out there and playing with grit.

so here is what phil is thinking ....

His misses when I watch the games are often "Good" ones, his balls seemed to be "In and out" type. The mark of a good shooter.

Macro, this team is flirting with .500 which means we are closer to being a good team than a bad one.

Galloway is a marginal player. Heart and hustle but average athleticism and average to below average skillset.

Grant needs to work on J and handle but has some upside. As four year college player coming from family with NBA roots, I thought he would be more prepared to play tighter right away but that doesnt appear to be the case.

I think as he has gotten his legs back and confidence he is shooting more. I recall some thinking he should. Naturally we don't like bad ones!!!

Regarding Jose, since he can't do a whole lot on defense (I just think what we saw was not going to last), I think he needs to shoot more often.
Give Jose 12 or so shots a night, depending on how things are going.

Calderon has been playing very good pt imo. Moving the ball well and actually pushing and creating at times. He's always been a good shooter but like point getting others looks. On D? He tries, just not that good . Drives me crazy however when he doesnt put a body on someone when board in play

I think there was a couple of plays in the 4th quarter against Dallas that sums up Gallo for me:

1) Gallo can't break anyone down off the dribble. Even a poor defender like Felton, who we all know has bad lateral quickness, stays in front of Gallo.
2) After a transition play for the Knicks, where there are mismatches all over the place and Melo has Felton pinned down in the FT area, Gallo can't get him the ball or doesn't see the play and hoists a contested, deep 2-pointer. And miss. And you could see Melo's frustration, all Gallo had to do was pass the ball and Melo gets basket or is fouled. Easy.

Gallo's D has regressed some and so has his shot.

I clearly remember number 2 and he actually did this twice.

I think we asked him to do too much. He's a likable player with a likable skill set, but asking him to be the lead guard off the bench is a big role. Maybe he breaks out of the shooting slump but I agree... he's been scouted and figured out some
