![]() I saw the thread and wondered how you would make it a daily anti-Melo rant.
Funny how SAS is a phucktard when he knocks KP, but if he says Melo hated the pick its gospel Get over it "winning is more fun... then fun is fun" -Thibs

Build around Porzingis, damit! Oh dandy, another trade Melo thread. How inspiring and original. Getting him to waive the no trade is the rub of course. But yeah, that's not important. |

So I take it you're against Porzingis being the face of the franchise, and want to continue lingering in the past(of disappointments). Got it. |

And what you got is I don't need Porzingis to be the face of the franchise his rookie year. Got that? And even if I did, like yourself, I wouldn't harp on it over and over and over again as if it has any effect on anything. Get it? |

He will be the face of the Knicks by year 3 or 4, but you have complement him by adding pieces. Melo isn't and shouldn't be a part of that. |

According to SAS: You should have posted Ford's story, instead of Screamin' A if that's what you agree with, Chuck. I'm over this clown of a reporter. He's paid to be ESPN's resident caricature of a loudmouth know-it-all New York sports fan. Dude may have had the Blackberry PINs to the league's elite 5 years ago but he's out of touch. Build around Porzingis, damit! This is where both you and Stephen A are wrong, you do not need to pick one or the other. There is no definitive "either build around Melo, or build around KP" that has to be done right away. Obviously KP is the future of the team, no doubt about it, but both you and ESPN, and Stephen A think in extremes. It doesn't have to be far left or far right. You build around KP, while keeping Melo as part of the equation to remain as competitive as possible while KP develops at a steady rate. You do not throw KP even more in the fire, starting him does enough, and fortunately he is mentally tough enough to handle his current role. But to increase that role asap is a huge mistake. We DO NOT have a draft pick this offseason, we WILL NOT yield a high return for Melo at this stage, so sit back and allow KP to develop while Melo scores his 20+ ppg, wins us some games, because again, there is no advantage to losing, it does not help us this offseason. When KP is ready for prime time, the Knicks will pass the torch to him and Melo will either be phased out and traded to a contender, or continue in a supporting role as a secondary scorer. It's really that simple. But you insisting this team cannot be Porzingis' team WHEN he is ready for that because Melo is here is very foolish on your part. It is clear you will never quite understand this, but there is zero advantage to trading Melo as long as he continues to buy in and play his part. I'm not sure which sounds more ridiculous, you saying we have to trade Melo in order to build around KP, or Stephen A saying we should not build around KP all together because Melo is our best player. Both are crazy to me. |

I've been here like a week and I'm well aware of your position on Melo and you never add anything new to the discourse other than to regard his non-trade clause as a minor inconvenience. It seems as this stage this is essentially trolling. Got it. |

Build around Porzingis, damit! You trade Melo sooner rather than later while he still retains some value. You will not get better value down the road, especially draft picks. He won't have an expiring contract until 2018-2019 where he will most definitely exercise his player option at $28 million. If you or others can't see the value in picks or how many players you can fill with $28 million to build around a steadily growing Porzingis, then I don't know what to tell you. It has to be an absolute. There is no half-stepping or half measures when building for a Championship. There is no sacrificing of game or all universe defense with Melo like an aging Paul Pierce or Tim Duncan. You trade him the instant someone dials 9 to dial out on the landline.... |

When KP is a franchise player or ready to be the face of the franchise come back to us then. Right now KP is a great prospect learning the league and he's proving he's far more ready to contribute than his detractors predicted. Thats it. Its nice and fun to watch. This is the early phases. A "pick" could be anywhere from 1 to 60, with represents many tiers of wildly varying values. You trade him the instant someone dials 9 to dial out on the landline.... What part of "no-trade clause" do you struggle with? |

Build for now and the future. 35 year old Melo will essentially be equal to 2 or 3 solid role players in 2018-2019 even with the exploding cap: Get value for him while you can now. No one will give up any decent value in a trade for a 35 year old "scorer" even as an expiring contract in 2018-2019. |

What part of that do you struggle with? Basically all Fisher has to do is bench Melo, Melo complains to Jax, Jax honors his request. Understand? |

Maybe this conversation makes more sense next year when we don't have a pick and we see how this team deals with this season, and not before Thanksgiving? Basketball gods forbid KP's growth stalls or he gets injured. Plus maybe it's a good thing Brand Melo helps to draw some of the heat away from the rook to give him more room to grow. If you post the Chad Ford piece, will it tell me anything of worth? Or is it just some guy getting paid to do what we do for free: talk ****? Baba Booey 2016 — "It's Silly Season"

So your premise is to bench Melo, become the laughingstock of the league in the process and create a media circus surrounding the development of Porzingis, Galloway and Grant, compromise your bargaining position by creating a sense of extreme urgency, and bank on Melo giving the Knicks exactly what they want. Got it. No holes in that plan. |
