When he is ice cold how will he respond? Will he try to attack the rim more to open up for others? Try to draw more fouls? Or will he play very passive and let others try to score? Will he continue to jack up shots? And will he try to get more points from triangle actions or just take the ball when he wants and try to ISO?
Getting to the line??? WTH>>>> he took more FT's then anyone on the knicks roster last season, and only played half the seaosn.
How many scorers you know that doesn't jack up a few ill advised shots, even MJ took a bunch of questionable shots in his career.
I think the guy has brought in, much more than the MDA ERA, or Woodson. You never going to get any 13 yr vet to completely transform his game. He's making a 124 million for playing the way he plays.
MJ also hit 50% of his shots for his entire career, eclipsing over 50% 6 times in his career. Melo never shot 50% or better in his 12 year career.
When you have shown efficiency, you have carte blanche and take a contested shot or heat checks once in awhile. Melo hasn't demonstrated that yet in 12 years. He's averaged 20 shot attempts or more for his career, but never converted half.
Hopefully he demonstrates better shot selection this season.
