I liked all of Phil's moves EXCEPT the derrick Williams signing. I felt is was too much money for a guy who has been a disappoinment. However im hoping he proves me wrong and puts it together

That's a commercial for all young players that takes their skills for granted. Just because you get drafted you still have to grow your skills. I think dwill has a great opportunity here to change that perception and use the ny media to his advantage.

Born in Brooklyn, Raised in Queens, Lives in Maryland. The future is bright, I'm a Knicks fan for life!

I guess we'll just have to look at it after 82 games.
DWilliams is still young, has the tools and some experience. He is also being paid nice and given a good opportunity.
Looks like Dallas did a good job and thru some decent euro money his way to secure NDour for the year.
ALL teams make boo-boo's, even the best ones. Dallas if not for DJordan's backing away would have had a much tighter cap and not generous room for NDour. Sometimes opportunties just happen for some players.

Seems like media and fans need that one thing to chew on to hate on phil. He's a big boy, he'll survive.

Maybe we an also hope that Dwiliams has a break out type season and we can applaude Phil for this signing?

Derrick Williams was a great talent in college and would have had a better early years if he was drafted to a better franchise. In his 4 years, he was coached by Rick Adelman for 2.5 years, Mike Malone for 1.75 years, Ty Corbin for a few months then George Karl the last few months. Adelman never struck me as somebody that developed yoots. He liked his vets. Mike Malone was a disaster. Same with Corbin. Karl was just too late last year.

Jury, stating the obvious, is still out for Old Man Fisher. Hopefully, he can coach this young man to reach his potential.

I dont know why the Knicks were cheap but I doubt that Ndour will be better than Williams or even close next year

I like NDour. I think we missed the boat on this one but I am basing this on the SL performance so I could be really wrong.

Why do people have an aversion to adding "I think" when creating threads on their thoughts?

Think of the empowerment when one mans internet opinion gets pitted against PHil Jax!!!!
Wow!!! NDour was a massive oversight of epic proportions!

Think about it, GM's have 15 spots and Internet posters have unlimited ideas. When not accountable for real time decisions, its easy to be smart.

Key phrase: "REAL TIME DECISIONS". its assumed there is always ample time and ample information in hindsight to make the best possible decisions. After all, thats what we have.

If Ndour does not have a better season, the Answerman does not have to answer to anyone does he? Its not his money, not his roster spot nor has to worry about promises made to other players either.

The New York Knicks attempted to negotiate with Maurice Ndour even after he reached a verbal agreement to sign with the Dallas Mavericks.

Dallas offered the undrafted Ohio University forward a fully guaranteed deal for more than the $600,000 rookie free-agent minimum, with a second year partially guaranteed.

The Knicks offered Ndour less than a $200,000 guarantee.

Ndour had an impressive Summer League with the Knicks.

Ha, I don't think Berman realised someone was probably making a joke.

No, not putting "I think" or "I predict" before it changes it into a statement of fact.

It was a joke to offer a guy a contract for roughly 150K (to live in NY), that's not ball player money on no level, Thats a good 9-5 job money

I am not sure that Fisher will be that good of a coach; specifically, when it comes to developing young players. Phil will definitely have to play a much bigger role for our young players to grasp the Triangle. If Carmelo was a player like Jordan or Lebron or Wade, I would have a lot more confidence in Fisher.

Thank God Fisher is no longer our coach, now let's get Calderon out of here:)

I think Fisher is doing a good job of changing how we get into the triable. We were much to predictable last season.

*I think* some players want to be in NY and most don't because of the Bull****.

The ones that do come here because of the pressure, the fans. They need it. I feel like Derrick Williams wants to play for us. I think he loves basketball and he's going to come into this season and really contribute. He has a few like minded guys on the team imho. Basically the whole front court. Alot of guys that love to play and they play free and hard. Team players. That's a vibe Derrick will feed off of. The the offense will give him focus

Financially they would have had the same ability to sign N'dour because it is a minimum contract. They just guaranteed more money of a contract that the league pays part of.
