Scouts had the top three as a lock..It should have been the top four...There are the top four players then everyone else...Mudiay is a franchise player and Denver will be giving him the keys with or without Lawson recent incident..We needed a PG and an NBA ready player..Mudiay is all that and then some..His court awareness is his gift and makes him elite..He is pass first and can get to the rim at will..His jumper is just awful..When his jumper begins fall, he will be an all star..I try not to get too excite over summer league ball..The commentators and the press at summer league ball are raving about this kid..LB said he was the best player in the draft and he might be right..His skill level and OK4's, far exceeds their peers..He is big, he is quick and he rebounds..He would not have been a good pick, he would have been a great pick..

Really? His #s haven't looked that impressive. I don't think any of the first round picks have looked great, though a few have shown some potential. Myles Turner has probably looked better than anyone else.

Yeah, he is that good..You have to see the game..He is the best player on the court..He can't shoot but it doesn't stop him from excelling at everything else..His problem is that he gets upset and frustrated at mates because they can't keep up and don't expect his passes..The commentators, particularly David Aldridge was giggling all night that he fell to the 7th spot..

The thing is, you won't be able to get a good feel for him in a workout..You have to see him play..Stein, Kaminsky etc are not in his league..He is a franchise player..It's understood that he will be starting day one in Denver and right now it's probably his team..

He looks like Pearl Washington playing at Syracuse is the best way to describe it..Only thing is he is big, quick and athletic..

Almost everything that happens in Summer league is meaningless. The level of competition is so bad that guys who are total scrubs in the NBA look good.

If I was GM of the Knicks......that would've been my pick. It was the safest low bust pick with John Wall potential prior to the draft. I think he will be a great player from the start. And KP will eventually catchup to him, but that will come further down the line. Out the gate, Mudiay will shine.....

But if you told me we could have KP and Grant vs Mudiay alone, then I like our picks over Mudiay.

The GM in Denver wouldn't trade Mudiay for KP and Grant after seeing what they have..

but I highly doubt Indiana would trade Turner for Mudiay either. Knowing what we know now (and it is still very early), I think you'd have to trade down for Turner.

Mudiay is a franchise player..He may be the best player in the draft..Do you think Turner is a franchise player?

Mudiay as you can see has superior skills..Mudiay is more skilled at his position than Turner..I would not be insane enough to trade Mudiay for Turner..

Mudiay was the guy I wanted at 4- and if I were going to start a hang you butt out there and make you're call to look back in 3-5 years, he would be the guy for me.

That said, I like KP, I like what he has done and what he might become.

But its summer league! And there is no way we can know until several years down the line.

Mudiay is to MCW for me. Yes Mudiay is the better athlete but PGs like that are great for a while then for some reason people start to expect them to actually shoot.

yes, I like his vision so far even though some of those passes he want get away with against real length and speed but he'll adjust I guess.

He is not like WCS..His instinct and skills at his position are far superior to that of WCS..

Mudiay is certainly a nice prospect and I would have liked that pick. Knowing what we know about Porzingis now, though, I don't see how you pass him up. I disagree with your statement "We needed a PG and an NBA ready player" - why did we need that? reality check - this team isn't going to win the NBA finals any time soon.

the Knicks needed the highest upside and to swing for the fences, and a 7'3 athlete who already has a picture-perfect jumper was the highest upside at pick 4 and arguably in the entire draft.

How can you not be impressed by BOTH porzingis and grant? Besides yesterday they have been just as impressive as mudiay. I would have been fine with mudiay but trading hardaway for grant was a great move. Mudiay still needs to learn to shoot

it wouldn't surprise me if both Grant and KP started for the Knicks this season. Calderon is better coming off the bench as a 6th man and KP's our best option at the 4.

Emmanuel Mudiay was the pick to be made at 4...
