Pros
- energizer bunny; always plays hard
- improved shooter (esp from the corner)
- adequate (if not overrated) defense
- versatile wing player that can guard 2/3s
- in his prime (about to be 29)

Cons
- chases steals in passing lanes
- bench player on good team; starter on bad team
- Triangle player?!?!

Overall - i like this player; ive always been a fan of his. put him at the 3 and slide melo to 4

Knicks should be improved: win about 40 games and maybe sneak into the playoffs. Melo, Rose and even Noah will have some nice moments however this team should be about PORZINGUS. the sooner they make him the primary player, the better

I think Brewer would be a great addition. Also, he can start or come off the bench so that would allow the Knicks to ease Kristaps into whatever role he is going to fill next year.

I like Brewer. Have to imagine that the crunch time lineup would be something like:

Grant or Calderon
Galloway
Brewer
Melo
Lopez

Which looks like a mutation of the 2012-3 team that won 54 games. I think that's wise. I wonder how Melo feels about playing the 4 again though.

And I feel like we would still need a backup big or two. I would try to bring back Cole and Amundson and Lance. Maybe also bring in Elton Brand if possible.

Phil clearly going after defense even more than offense this summer. Brewer fits the plan in terms of D.

It is a nice change instead of trying to find scorers at all costs and then trying to make them fit or signing one guy to handle the d.

We did pretty good with Melo at 4 and good defenders around him. 54 wins and rd 2.

Not a fan of Corey Booker, I feel like he's way too cozy with Wall Street.

Brewer goes back to Houston. Seems like Knicks had a chance to offer a deal but maybe didn't want to?

I think he's referring to the 2020 New Jersey US Senate election.

Yeah but we still need someone to help Melo score. I know Afflalo can hit the 3 ball but i don't think what he brings is enough. Bargs can easily put up 15-18 a night and Calderon can put up 12-15 if he can be what he was in Dallas which is still a question but who else is gonna help Melo??? Shved and Porzingis can help out but not consistently.

Probably we sussed he was just using us to get Houston to offer him a bigger deal. Interesting in that are Beverley and KJ now more available? They are up to about $67mil in salary

11 PPG from Lopez?
That's if Phil doesn't marginalize his contributions with the triangle

Apparently the Knicks are focusing on Derrick Williams over Brewer. Brewer got more than the Knicks even had available in cap room.

Williams, Afflalo, and Lopez? I don't see a clear method or philosophy behind their decision-making. They don't appear to be using any of the available metrics. I hope they're not making decisions 100% on the eyeball test but I have a feeling they are.

It's Phil he's using the Third Eyeball Test.

I think the only test he's using is who'll agree to sign here.
