There have been rumblings from league sources that the Knicks may pursue free agent Jeremy Lin this summer. No word what they would offer.

The only way for that to work would mean the riddance of Calderon.

Is this part of the 5 point guard rule? Each lottery team must carry at least 5 pgs into the next season?
You know I gonna spin wit it

Maybe Kennedy is trying to get more followers.

i wouldnt mind...hes still a solid player. as long as we get his for cheap (less than 5mill), short duration (one yr) and we get rid of jose. hes still an athletic combo guard who can play ball
Knicks should be improved: win about 40 games and maybe sneak into the playoffs. Melo, Rose and even Noah will have some nice moments however this team should be about PORZINGUS. the sooner they make him the primary player, the better

Not sure why the Knicks need a 3rd or 4th string PG. Lin was basically benched with Pringles running the show. I know people around here love him but the guy is an awful signing. Terrible triangle player since he isn't really a smart player. Also a complete liability on the other end. This would even be a waste a 3 mil. The roster only suffers from this.

I personally think this is made up. Galloway is a better player on both ends. We also moved THJ to get Grant which everybody agrees was a great move. Why use cap.space on a guy who is worse than the guy you have and gonna cause a 1st round pick to not get any time?

+1 - I think this was fabricated out of thin air to cause a spark since any Lin discussion does so.

Is Phil related to David Kahn of the wolves in any way?

truthfully the knicks would be better off. Next year wasnt gonna be great with or without melo. Id love to get more picks and with all that cap space you can build a deeper team while KP and grant develop

I'd love Lin, but I don't see the room on the roster - not with Grant having been drafted and Gallo and potentially Shved.

We need a SG in FA, not a PG.

Not sure that this rumor has any truthfulness but, what kind of offense was he part of at Harvard?

Was it more of an MDA offense, or something else?

Just wondering.

Jerian Grant was drafted to be the future of the point guard position. Calderon is making a lot of money to be a backup. Galloway needs minutes to develop.

Any 4th guard at this point is going to impede Grant and Galloway's development. Galloway was not drafted, the Knicks have a very small precise window to evaluate him, they don't have the same controllable years/rights as they would a first rounder. It's critical to see what Galloway ( and Early) can give you right now, right away.

8-9 players comprise a typical NBA rotation.

Ideally, Grant, Galloway, Calderon, Melo, Zinger, Early will be part of that rotation. The Knicks need center and wing help, which should fill out the rotation.

Lin offers too much to be a 4th guard for the Knicks.

Also you have to consider Leon Rose's wife and kids. Imagine how much terror that poor woman and her kids will get when Melo is banging on Leon Rose's door, screaming and demanding to know why Lin is getting MVP chants and no one gives a **** about Melo at all.

My hope is Lin goes to the Warriors, Hawks or Spurs or Suns. To a place where he won't have to suffer a narcissist or rapist or just plain lousy team mates. ( That's tough luck, having to play with Melo, Kobe and Harden, all lead singers of the band Chuckapalooza)

That pretty much sums it up. We would have too many PG's in Calderon, Grant, Galloway and Lin. That said, with the interchangeable nature of triangle positions, I wonder if Phil would rather have a bunch of combo guards out there? You could play any two of those guys at any given moment.

But, I would love to trade Calderon for a more SG player (with good handle) and go at things that way. Use Lin, Galloway and Grant as combo guards. All have height and could play SG. Lin is probably the weakest defender of the bunch but he just played great here, so I'm not sure I would reject him (unless Calderon is here.)

Just was thinking out loud there. Have trust in Phil...
