2. Frank the Tank is on fire. Phil Jackson loves him. So does Vlade Divac. Michael Jordan won't pass on him at 9. 4-9 his new range.

Good for Kaminskyi if true.

All the workouts are over and teams are going over their notes and videos of the guys they worked out, and suddenly each team's talent evaluators are looking at each other and thinking:

Smart, great shooter, good rebounder, can pass, well coached, good NCAA pedigree, legit 7', and he's busted his butt to work on his body.

I've continued to say that I'm amazed at how he's been overlooked as a player- especially by folks on UK.

Funny- is he a similar player to Divac? Maybe he sees a bit of himself in Frank's game?

I'll have to remember to lock my windows tonight so it'll be harder to jump out of them if the Knicks take this guy 4th overall.

This draft thing is kind of funny. You can have players "look the part" but end up being complete busts... then you can have guys like Frank that just don't pass the eye test become among the very best.

Case in point, the NBA draft makes big mistakes on all-star big men. How did Marc Gasol (perhaps the best center in the NBA today) end up being a 2nd rounder, the 48th overall pick in 2007? The only player in that draft who is definitively better is Kevin Durant. The only other players who can even make a (weak) case are Al Horford, Joakim Noah, and Mike Conley. It's pretty astounding. The Knicks ended up picking Wilson Chandler at #23 in that draft - plus traded for Jared Jordan (picked 45th overall).

Again, the mental aspect is just as important as raw physical attributes/athleticism at the NBA level. And that's something that's hard to measure. And with that, you can still have the right brain type, but if you're born with the wrong body, you're still going to be limited.

Enjoy.

I love Frank... I put $100 on Wisconsin at 8:1 to win the tourney in Vegas at 8:1... why reach? I don't trust Chad Ford's journalism ability

I think Scalabrini is a fair comp for Kaminsky.

Oh, I agree that Chad Ford has no journalistic ability. He's trying to hype international players so he keeps getting to go on scouting trips to spain and italy. He's so often so wrong on draft stuff that it is astounding that ESPN leaves him as their draft guru.

I think Frank can be a decent player in the NBA - he reminds me a lot of Kelly Olynyk, who is not terrible. But if the Knicks take him at 4, I think it will work out about as well as your bet on Wisconsin to win the tournie. Close but no cigar. (No offnse)

Chad Ford is a douche. What does that have to do with anything? Kaminsky will be a nice role player. To take him at #4 is a disaster, IMO. Well see in a couple years who is right. I could be wrong! And Ill be fine admitting it! I just don't see anything more than a 2nd team/rotation player.

Frank reminds me too much of Evan Turner. Wonderfully skilled do-all player with high IQ. Wait.. suddenly he's everyone he's playing against is stronger and more athletic and game got harder fast.

No argument there. I see what you mean by the comment now.

i would prefer winslow because he's a two-way player, high character kid, leadership, and i think his ceiling will be all-star caliber. but i like kaminsky a whole bunch too-- he has all the tools the triangle needs, as well as the heart and the ambition and character, and also leadership ability. i would consider it a very successful draft if we got either player. then again, i think porzingis is going to be a good player too, although he may not have the makings of a leader.

winslow
kaminsky
porzingis

knicks win 38-43 games in 16-17. rose MUST shoot no more than 14 shots per game, defer to kp6 + melo, and have a usage rate of less than 25%

Heard him this morning and he has Mundiay "parked" at the 4 cuz he don't know where to put him.

Im not gonna sweat Frank at the 4 until it would happen. Why indict Phil for something he has yet to do? Why indict him for not being part of a cousins deal when he might not even want the guy?
All we know is what we read and today eyeballs on the internet are whats being sold more than any solid news. Just talk.

Kaminsky is really growing on me. Aside from his defense and lack of strength, he excels in every other area of the game. Trade down and grab this guy.

Villanova coach feels that Kaminsky is the kind of player that Porzingis, to some extent, will be looking to be like, as he matures.

Likes him at 4.

Just an aside...He also commented that they have a 6'5" Soph on Nova who played against OK4 in HS and completely destroyed him.

Almost seemed to describe OK4 as a niche player, with one amazing skill- his post-up game.
