Yep just saw that he opted out of his contract and will be a free agent which was expected so now lets see what he does. I think he won't go back to Cleveland and probably go to the Lakers.

What!? Didn't he say he was staying with the Cavs during the playoff run, after the injury??? NAB HIM. NOW.
Wishing everyone well. I enjoyed posting here for a while, but as I matured I realized this forum isn't for me. We all evolve. Thanks for the memories everyone.

I'd take him over Monroe

Why though? They both can't defend and Love is older, more injury prone, and going to be more expensive?

Wonder what Jackson thinks about him.

Why not play next year, maybe help the Cavs win a title with a healthy Irving, and then benefit from the cap increase?

Wonder if he just signs a one year contract.

Can't think that his value right now is as high as it once was.

Love is a great rebounder and great shooter. What this means that unlike in the past, we don't have the lanes clogged and a lot of versatility. Greg Monroe isn't in the same class as Kevin Love.

Monroe is a great rebounder too, Plus Kevin love is older, Monroe could become a better player on a cheaper contract by the time their next contracts are through. Also considering neither can defend I wouldn't say either is clearly better than the other.

Maybe, but I doubt it. Even so, the Knicks are probably on their last licks with Melo being old at that time too.

Would want either Love or Melo, not both.

Don't think Phil even thinks about Love.

He didn't want to be a distraction to the team, since they were in the championship final series. But I knew he was gone, win or lose. This is why Phil said free agency should be before the draft. Phil can go big or small with the 4th pick. If he knew what the team looked like before the draft, it makes the decision easier to make. So the only way to approach the draft is BPA. Or a player he knows feels a position he can't fill with free agency.

I actually think he's pretty close. Monroe is just as good a rebounder, probably a better passer. Love's rebounding #s are sick when he's allowed to get every board. Notice those #s dropped when he played with real bigs.

I view them as the same caliber of players just very different. I think the problem is Love thinks himself a star and an alpha where as Monroe is more team.

I suspect Love is a Laker as well. They add the best post scorer in the draft and the best shooter in FA. I can see this in Lakerland

Probably worth its own thread, to be honest. He's dead on about this.

This is true. We need to go BPA anyways because we lack talent at every position, but it should still be changed.

Love didn't work so good in Cleveland. He was the most expensive decoy in the NBA. And Lebron is far less selfish with the ball than Melo.

That's just brutal. Trading Wiggins to get 15 cents on the dollar on Kevin Love.

LBJ, the wannabe Jerry West/Jay Z type CEO, just proved again why he should stick to playing the game, not trying to run the game.

Every time an NBA player plays GM they get killed. EVERY time.

The ONLY way you should go through the draft is BPA. The draft is a self entity. We can assume NO one will start after pick #3 this year. If they earn it in practice GREAT.

And how do you determine BPA?
