![]() I like Ellis, he is a baller. With Ellis as a known scorer, Carmelo would have a lot more guys around him that he can rely upon to put the ball in the basket. Specifically, if we also sign Monroe.
Thank God Fisher is no longer our coach, now let's get Calderon out of here:)

His last couple years have been very good. Dal won 50 games starting him next to Jose 2 years ago. They won another 50 last year with more flux in the backcourt. He's been healthy, 80 games a season in his last 3 years. He can really score and he gets a ton of steals. I dont know... it depends on the fit. He's looking for his last big payday I assume. He turns 30 next year.. not the best shooter, more a scorer type. Depends on the other pieces around him. Monta can be a guy who volume shoots you out of games. He can also add valuable scoring if you dont have a ton. "winning is more fun... then fun is fun" -Thibs

Monta has a great mid-range game though and he penetrates, so I could see him working in the Triangle. I could see him actually getting some better shots in the Triangle. It's a very smart move for him to opt out. He's coming off a 20ppg season, he's 29 and he's one of the only all-star caliber guards on the FA market. If you want an all-star level guard in FA, it's basically Monta or Dragic. Yes, I'd greatly prefer Dragic, but I think he's somewhat harder to get. ¿ △ ?

On the serious side, I think Melo needs high percentage shooters around him. When he had that, the Knicks were a much better team. I would prioritize that over Monta. But if we had that and Monta, I wouldn't complain either. Wishing everyone well. I enjoyed posting here for a while, but as I matured I realized this forum isn't for me. We all evolve. ![]() dacash wrote:monroe and ellis might be good i said this a while backI mean look at some options. Say you essentially spend on those two guys. Team could look like this moving foward: PG Monta SG Galloway SF Porzingis PF Melo C Monroe Monta and Galloway are going to get a ton of steals and can put some pressure on opposing guards on both ends of the floor. Monroe gets all his point blank but with that group you can see some very good floorspacing options. If Fisher can push them to defend that could be an interesting group moving forward. ![]() crzymdups wrote:MONTA ELLIS TO OPT OUT OF DEAL WITH MAVS His problem is he doesn't get along with all his teammates and that stuff can kill a locker room. If you want to build a winning team you have to have a team full of players that get along with each other and want to play with each other. I love his skills and what he brings on the court but i don't want a guy that's not a team player. |

![]() this would be so typical of the knicks to go after ellis..smh
Knicks should be improved: win about 40 games and maybe sneak into the playoffs. Melo, Rose and even Noah will have some nice moments however this team should be about PORZINGUS. the sooner they make him the primary player, the better

![]() BRIGGS wrote: Briggs you gotta stop overrating some of these guys. If he had a similar offensive game to Ellis, and played D like Tony Allen, he would be a top 3 pick in the draft. Allen is a premiere defender, one of the better in the past decade. If he is Ellis offense and Allen defense, then we take him at #4 and don't think twice, but obviously that's not happening. |

If you have a problem with what i say--there is an ignore feature. Id rather spend 2mm on Powell than 50mm on Ellis even without the experience. We need young assets if we want to get into a trade market some day--we need something other than 30 year old players with massive contracts. Monta Ellis is not a good idea where the team is. He needs to transition out of the SL to 6th man. RIP Crushalot😞
