Against ANY prospect from Stein Mudiay Russell and let skills and play tell the tale . IMHO you are looking at Pau Gasol with more range and it would be an utter mistake not to let him go head to head or 2-2 or whatever the setting becuase I'm confidant he will dominate his peers of the draft. Even if the Knicks have a couple of 4s or 5 possibilities in free agency NOT 1 of them will be superior to Frank

I have a long history of making many good singular calls . Yes there are many many quality prospects through the draft but I'll bet my bottom dollar that Frank Kaminsky will be the best pick at 4 hey let him go 1-1 with Carmelo let's see what happens forget the other rookies I'm that confidant in frank He's tough skilled and a winner

Frank is the only guy in the draft other tha Porzingis who can play 5 out fit the triangle or fit a spurs model of ball movement. His team game is vastly superior to anything under pick 2

There's more to winning basketball than individual skills. I've said this before but Kevin Love is a perfect example of what I think Kaminsky is. Great scorer but in terms of overall impact on a team it's not as much as you would think. There's only one ball and IMO a player like WCS has more impact on his team overall because he doesn't need the ball to have a major impact. Kaminsky might dazzle you in one on one match ups but that doesn't necessarily have the wanted impact in terms of Team Ball.

I want WCS because of how he'd impact the team as a whole defensive unit. He actually helps everyone and he's doing it without needing plays called or the ball in his hands. You need scoring but you need to get stops too. In the NBA getting stops is one of the hardest things to do. Any edge you can give your team in that regard is worth gold.

When WCS was on the floor his team allowed 82 ppp and when he wasn't on the floor the team allowed 90 ppp. If he can continue to refine his offense just enough he'll always be a net positive player. That defense can be something you can depend on even if the team is having a poor shooting night.

Knicks aren't going to draft kaminsky.
Knicks should be improved: win about 40 games and maybe sneak into the playoffs. Melo, Rose and even Noah will have some nice moments however this team should be about PORZINGUS. the sooner they make him the primary player, the better

Last year before this Cavs experiment Love's TS% was 59.1, WS/48 of .245 and he had a PER of 26.9. In what way is he inefficient?

Jackson has spoken to him, not sure whether we have actually scouted him... of course you only have to look at some of the games he's played against many of the top ranked bigs in this draft, I understand that there are some who discount these games and go to workout performance when they don't like a player, although American collegiate games seem to become more significant all of a sudden if people who don't like Mudiay or a Euro want to denigrate their level of competition.

Kaminsky is the best passing big man in the draft and along with Porzingis is the only 7' player who has hit outside shots and 3s on a regular basis in actual games. He also showed up defensively when in counted in college, and both he and Towns were the guys who showed some real toughness down low in their big game together.

I am still amazed how little love he gets from some folks.

Perhaps Jackson should play up a big interest in Porzingis and see if he gets any bites. Orlando is known to be interested. Denver, especially if MDA becomes coach, would love him. That would be an intriguing front line with him and Gallinari at the forwards.

From Denver you get an extra pick in this draft and their #1 for next year. Knicks would probably take back a player, too- someone would have to look at their roster for suggestions.

You could get Kaminsky as well as some other goodies this way, but I am still one who would consider him at 4.

EnySpree: Can we agree to agree not to mention Phil Jackson and triangle for the rest of our lives?

I don't think Kevin love is a winning type player. Frank Kaminsky led a fairly talented team to back to back final fours. I think he fits a newer model of the nba. He's a face four who can shift to 5 at 7-1 with play making skills handle mobility and he tries to make the right team play on o or d. I like him he's a winner

It seems like bringing in any prospect in the top 20 makes sense. If the Knicks are looking at all options with the pick they need to be prepared.
I'm tired,I'm tired, I'm so tired right now......Kristaps Porzingis 1/3/18

Hoopshype's mock has Kaminsky going at 15 and Portis at 16. Those are really good picks for the middle of the first round.

I value your scouting skills, but this year you seem to have completely discarded the importance of defense, which I think is a mistake

do you really think he is going to be a impact nba player. I mean most people have him as a mid rounder. I like his game but im not sold on him being a legit nba player

I had issues with Kaminsky's D during the year, I think I even commented on it in the middle of the college season.

Got to see more as the year went on and was more impressed.

He was fine against the KU team and against Duke.

Defense is a lot more than simple athleticism. Bargs has been a decent 1/1 defender, but seems clueless as a help defender. Has nothing to do with his athletic ability.

Wisconsin was known for a disciplined offense and a tough, fundamentally sound D- two things that seem important for the offense we run as well as our D.

I figure if the Knicks put him through the paces, and they would be very interested in his D, we should find out enough about him. We already know about his offensive ability.

OK. So first of all i'm sure they'll be bringing him in for a workout cause he has size and skills and it isn't like it would be some great call to say Kaminsky will be a good NBA player since he is considered a lottery pick so lets not act like he's a sleeper pick or some pick that every single team doesn't already have on their boards already. I don't think you can be wrong with any of the projected lottery picks since you like every one of them but WCS and lastly if you look at your draft board from last years draft you'll see that you were off on a lot of your board so lets not start patting our own backs so soon.

I honestly do like the kid BUT not as a top pick. If we had another pick in the mid round then it would be a good fit
Knicks need to bring in Kaminsky to workout
