2009--pick 7 Steph Curry
2011--pick 11 Klay Thompson
2012--pick 7 Harrison Barnes pick 30 Fetsus Elzsi pick 35 Dray Green

2 7 picks an 11 pick 30 and 35.--EXACTLY why I want to trade down and get more picks

How many premium free agents--zero.
In fact they do not even have 1 free agent signed on their roster for more than 2mm.

Golden State did an excellent job. They've made the most of the picks they had.

We have a tendency to look down on our own picks. None of our remaining picks were as high as the two #7's or #11 but the still have some talent. We haven't had enough time to allow our own picks and young prospects to actually develop. I'm curious to see how that all works out. I'm curious to see if the Knicks add another pick in this draft. IMO there is still upside to our picks that hasn't yet been realized. Hopefully we get a few of them to pan out.

2013	Pick	24	Tim Hardaway, Jr.
2014 Pick 34 Cleanthony Early
2014 Pick 51 Thanasis Antetokounmpo
2014 Pick 57 Louis Labeyrie
2014 UDFA Langston Galloway
2015 Pick 4 ?

David Lee..

Is Lee still hurt? He is becoming the Herb Williams of GS.

Lee and Iguodala were both free agent sign and trades, so they count as free agents in this scenario. They have never been a premium free agent destination anyways, so they had to build their team thru the draft and did it perfectly. They are the closest thing to San Antonio in this era, along with OKC. I believe we have a unique opportunity to get both free agent and draft help, but we have to hit on the draft choice.

Monta ellis, picked 10th, then traded for Bogut..........

Briggs, forgot the thing about being patient and cap space. While not starters now, Iggy and DLee did the solid work of a team growing. They have also built a culture with new owner and president. When the in-house dysfunction that was Mark Jax was let got, they were able to move forward.

Lee was a sign and trade with the Knicks...So it's like a FA siginging..Bogut got traded for Monta Ellis..

They were sign and trades, which were done thru free agency.

What does them getting lucky and getting great players at those picks have to do with us trading down in a draft that doesn't have players like that in it especially after the first few picks?? Who can we draft that can be a S.Curry or a K.Thompson or a D.Green in this draft?? There could be a S.Curry light in D.Russell but if we trade down then we'd obviously be putting ourselves even further away from a chance at getting him than we are now. Sorry but you need things to fall your way to end up with players like that and it's not just the talent they have but also their mentalities and the way they play together as a tight unit.

I hate when i'm reminded that we missed S.Curry by one pick. I can't get that time out of my head when i was watching that draft and begging the warriors not to draft Curry. Whah Whah Whah

Well then please do tell me what players will be a S.Curry and a K.Thompson and a D.Green??? All you can do is assume but come on now Briggs you know enough about the draft and prospects that there isn't those players in this draft. I'm sure a couple will turn out better than expected but you threw some big names out there with those three.

Briggs - he's absolutely right - the closest we have in this draft of getting a player like Steph or Klay is right at pick 4 with Mudiay or Russell or Okafor if they fall.

Anything further back, you are praying.

We picked right after Curry - how did that selection work out for us? I've forgotten who we picked and am too lazy to google it!

The only thing GS proves is keep your draft picks, don't trade them & be smart and hope for luck!

Agree about focusing on draft over FA, but THIS year we need to pick our "Steph Curry" franchise player as we have the #4 overall. Your flawed logic (i.e., GS drafted well = Knicks will draft well) does not trump the fact that we can pick an elite talent at #4 in this draft. And that is what we should do, along with not trading away our future picks. If we want to restock the cupboard, the best way for us to do so is by trading Melo, not trading our pick.

You need luck to get to the top in NBA.
But to take advantage of luck you need to have stellar organization with system and culture in place.
Then team can seize the moment.
it is very good for Steph Curry, NBA, and all bbal fans that he NEVER was drafter by Knicks.
What a waste of talent it would be....

The draft is just so much luck. We wanted Stephen Curry badly. Had we moved up by trading for a Minn pick (which was rumored at the time) or been one pick higher to select Curry, we would have a significantly different situation in NY and GS would not be what they are today. But such as our luck, it's just the way things happened.

Im not looking for another Steph Curry there is only 1. I like Fuzaro kaminsky Mickey but this is the best draft that I can remember to 60+ this draft will be remembered for having a GREAT deal of great players. Thats how I see it. I dont even think the guys who like Stein are way way off I just dont want him at 4:)
