If they let go of Thib, a lot of the players currently on that roster will want to go play elsewhere. Which will open the doors for a chance to acquire Butler
Thank God Fisher is no longer our coach, now let's get Calderon out of here:)

He's RFA, he doesn't really have a say in where he goes. I think the Bulls may be more likely to part with Rose.

Depending on who they replace Thib with, they will be forced to change their philosophy

Probably but it might be hard to find a team that will take on Rose's contract. I think Butler loves Chicago but that might change if Thibs is let go.

There will be plenty of available talents to chose from, but what will hurt our chances is because teams like lakers, spurs, and Dallas have money available and much more proven coaches at the helm.

What if the Spurs were to make an offer that Chicago couldn't, or did not want to, match.

Move Green, and you'd have Leonard and Butler as your wing defenders.

Have not idea if it is even possible, but they would make quite a pair.

EnySpree: Can we agree to agree not to mention Phil Jackson and triangle for the rest of our lives?

Not a good combo. You already have Parker who needs the ball to be effective and Kahwi. What they need is a starting PF to replace Duncan or a center like Gasssol to play next to him

"Part" with Rose. That implies a taker for a contract from hell and a player who can't stay on the floor. Adidas or Reebok has his sneaker contract and they're almost out of the basketball sneaker business as a result.

Chicago has become a player-friendly place to lose.

True. But the expensive core of players will be another year older and have already failed multiple times. A regrouping next year and geriatric the year after.

my #1 target has been j.butler from the start. even though hes a restricted free agent, the bulls have been known for being cheap. i ll see how this unfolds but please remember jimmy isnt in the drivers seat here
Knicks should be improved: win about 40 games and maybe sneak into the playoffs. Melo, Rose and even Noah will have some nice moments however this team should be about PORZINGUS. the sooner they make him the primary player, the better

The last time I looked Chicago has been one of the best team Y-Y and the Knicks have been winning 30 games over the last 15 years. They had darn hard luck or they mightve won a title. Also their getting a taste of their own medicine with LBJ in the conference.

It will unfold like this--Chicago will get a new coach and sign Jimmy Butler to a max contract.

maybe we end up trading our first round pick for Rose

Total Knick (Dolan) move.

Dan Bernstein
‏@dan_bernstein #Bulls sources: at least three starters ripped Thibs in exit interview, said they'd avoid team facility this summer if he were still there.

Speculation on twitter that Rose and Pau were two of the complainers. Not sure who the third would be.

If Chicago wants an offensive coach I wonder if is in the mix. Didn't they want him that season that he signed with us.

Not sure Pau was all that Thrilled with when in LA, but they could do a lot worse.

Man, snagging Butler would be a total coup. Having a dynamic, two way guard like Butler who also happens to be tall enough to snuff out the opposing SF is quite a building block. If we could get Butler and then draft Winslow or Mudiay (and they pan out accordingly, which I know is never for certain--but indulge me for a moment) that could be a super tough backcourt that can score in a variety of ways _and_ defend the perimeter. Mudiay and Winslow have the potential to be nice defenders and Mudiay a Jason Kidd type rebounder.

Man its really too bad Butler doesn't have a say in it so even if he for some bizarre reason WANTS to come to the Knicks the Bulls will most definitely retain him Thibs or no Thibs. Butler at the mini max when the cap explodes in 2 seasons will be one hell of a bargain. Perhaps one of the biggest in the NBA. $12-13 million for a 2 way 6'7" 20/5/5 freaking shooting guard. Jeez.

Knicks will improve based onthe Bulls' decision
