All these crazy 'what ifs' that would never happen in the 1st place!

I'd trade it for Anthony Davis, straight up!

Otherwise, I roll the dice.

How often do The Knicks get to roll the dice in the lottery - & a good one at that - & have a more than better chance at the good stuff?

You talking about D'Angelo Russell? Are you talking about if Philly gets LA's pick?
I would do this in a heartbeat. It's not clear to me that Okafor or Towns is even a better pick anyway. If you're talking about throwing in another lotto pick, I'd do it immediately.
I've been thinking for a while about trading down from 1 or 2 to 3 to get Russell and more assets.

Yes. As much as I like Towns, the combo of Russell+Hezonga would be a better start on our rebuild.

But I'd be just as happy to land Towns, and almost as happy with OK4. I don't think either of KAT or OK4 are valuable enough for us to be able to snag Russell and Hezonga. So it's a pipe dream.

I am curious what scenario you're imagining where this would even be a possibility. Do tell.

The Sixers get the Lakers pick if it # 6 this would be a case of #1 for #4 and 6 We get the guards here and go for two bigs in free agency

Is that sarcasm? Because I think we'd have to give up an additional asset to make it work. But I love the idea of trading down to select Russell and acquire some assets.

its silly ... of course Philly won't do it and these wild scenarios maybe be fun to think up, they will never happen.

And, we don't have any other assets to give up.

Well, if the trade is with Philly, they would be taking Russell, so we might actually be able to get Towns and Hezonga. One can dream!

Yes, this is pretty much the only acceptable trade for our draft pick as far as I'm concerned. Trading down a few spots to pick up another good asset, either another high draft pick or a good, young player.
Now the joy of my world is in Zion How beautiful if nothing more Than to wait at Zion's door I've never been in love like this before Now let me pray to keep you from The perils that will surely come

I have no problem with this. It's not like we lose out on talent in that deal. We actually need so much talent that it's not a bad idea to go for 2 quality players versus one. Every option needs to be explored in trying to rebuild this roster.

Was thinking, would LA trade its pick. Deron and Bropez for its pick? Say its 3-5?? They got cap space and Nets way over. Maybe take some salary back.

Deron
Bropez
Hill
Kobe
Randle

Not saying they would, or should. Just an exercise.

Maybe knicks should entertain a thought of a Veteran in return, but with a pick as well.

I love Russell. I think he's got huge potential. Part of me hopes that the Knicks are forced into picking him somehow.

Well getting pick #1 gives us leverage over the entire draft. I think Id probably take Towns at about an 80% clip right now but my ears would be open if Philly got pick 3 and 6 and wanted 1.
