Deandre can't Triangulate.
Gallo will be mired in his Sophmore/Junior slumps.
Shved is never going to outlive that layup attempt into the seats.
Melo just sux.
Durant loves DC.
Don't forget Bargs as SMOTY!
Lather, rinse, repeat.
We can also just wait around unitl Phil trades every first rounder for the rights to Rudy Gay or Rickey Rubio.
Know you are being sarcastic with Gobert but I think we made a huge mistake by not taking him over Tim Hardaway JR
Gobert had the highest "potential" of the players selected with our draft pick
It is a bit funny because Gobert's potential and size/physical abilities/length/athleticism was best compared to McGee which probably scared some GM's
But like McGee, Gobert has a very rare body build, with the combination of length/athleticism/size/ ability to rebound/block shots/patrol the paint, with GREAT MOBILITY/GREAT TEAM DEFENSE
Unlike McGee, Gobert has the time to work on his skill sets and work on his weakness's, a reason they traded Kanter away
Instead we drafted a position in SG and without the ability to play PG or SF, which was our DEEPEST at the time, with also inconsistent younger talents in Iman and JR Smith *who we allegedly knew needed knee surgery" and was a UFA with a player option
I never believed in Tim Hardaway because of his shot selection and poor defenses, while he could get HOT at times, he is very inconsistent and will likely always be an under average defender at best
Now Tim Hardaway JR's trade value is at an all time low, while we probably could have sold him last year, in his rookie season
Also with Thanasiss coming in next season, with also Galloway liked in with Calderon *who we can stretch but do not think it is worth it do so*, in addition to possibly keeping Shved who we are unlikely to give the qualifing offer to but could still bring back on a lower salary than his qualifing offer who is also auditioning his skills with our injuries with AB, with his ability to penetrate/facilitate and play as a backup PG/SG who has great size and is still quite young to work on his weakness's and improve on his strengths
With all that we still could improve the position with UFA's and possible trades, draft pick with Russell, undrafted FA's, and possibly even acquiring more picks from late 1st rounders to 2nd rounders with this David Lee talk and the possibliy of moving CA to a contender with our inability to build a contender next year as we though we would have been able to do with FREE AGENCY this summer
With Tony Wroten knee injury, would we be able to trade Shved/Tim Hardaway JR for him?
While he may not be the ideal STARTING PG/SG for the Triangle, his ability to penetrate/finish/get FT's and steals and facilitate, while using his ability to penetrate/finish to open up lanes with shooters to spread the floor
He would be a great chance of pace PG/SG as a backup, though maybe a good gamble for this trade mentioned above
Though the injury could take away some of his physical abilities, he is still rather YOUNG and could recover, like Westbrook did....
In terms of speed/quickness/strength/ability to penetrate and finish WITH CONTACT, he was up there right with the elites of James Harden, John Wall, a YOUNG MANU, which all have great size/strength/speed/quickness
His ability to penetrate draws double/triple teams and he is an under rated passer
Though he may TO the ball a bit and has trouble hitting FT %, HE GETS TO THE LINE, for easy points and would push the pace/tempo for easy baskets, which we desperatly need
With other gambles in other positions being Andray Blatche/Bynum who both have POST abilities and at the right price could be huge steals
Bynum would likely need an unguarnteed deal or a vet min deal, while Blatche off the court troubles brings his price down to a good cost/risk for about 3m - 3.5m per year, maybe less, with a team option for 2nd year or 3rd year
I personally was HUGE on Giannes at his pick, who was a TOP 3 pick potential picked in the mid teens, would have liked to use our picks that we used to trade for AB to move up in the draft to grab Giannes who would have helped compliment CA's game with his ability to defend multiple positions as a lockdown player potential and a playmaker with the ball
