He's been bought out by Denver because he wants a bigger role. That's the one thing we can offer someone right now - MINUTES: http://probasketballtalk.nbcsports.com/2015/02/20/report-thomas-robinson-agrees-to-buyout-with-nuggets/?utm_source=dlvr.it&utm_medium=twitter

This guy is the athletic, defensively minded, gritty type of big man we have lacked for years.

He's been a bit of a disappointment, but man, his tool set is something the Knicks haven't had in a PF in years.

Look at this dude:

I think his slow development might actually be mostly that he's been stuck at the same position at franchise guys like DeMarcus Cousins, LaMarcus Aldridge, and well not a franchise guy, but a guy the franchise committed to in Kenneth Faried.

Anyway. Think this guy is worth a look.

He would be a great pickup. Hopefully he will look to teams that can give him playing time.

He left Denver because he wanted a bigger role. We have literally no one at PF with Stat gone and Melo out.

I'd much rather give Thomas Robinson 32 minutes a night at PF than waste any more time on Bargnani.

Robinson is only 23. Seems like he has been in the league for a long time.

He's the closest physical player to Ben Wallace since Ben Wallace 6'9 with a 7'4 wingspan. I could not agree more... Lets see what he can do. He could be a real steal

Wow!

How does a guy like that bounce around. There's gotta be more to him than this incredible highlight video

Like I said, he's been buried behind DeMarcus Cousins and LaMarcus Aldridge. It might just be he's never gotten a real shot. I don't know. (he could also he a bad personality, but I have no knowledge of that)

Jermain Oneil sat for 4 years... very similar #s to Robinson. Sometimes it takes time and a shot.

Oneal sat because he came straight out of HS. Like Kobe & KG sat for the most part during their rookie years.

I'd love to bring in Robinson. No risk/high reward

Oneil was stuck behind vets... Guns he sat for 4 years. He was stuck behind guys like Brant Grant, Sheed, maybe Dale Davis... he was like a 10-12 minute a night bit player for 4 straight years and no indication of improvement. He starts every game with Indy was an instant beast. Go check the #s.

4 years!

Not saying Robinson is the same, only that it can happen

Yea I know and Robinson was stuck behind 1 guy. I wouldn't say he was buried. I'm sure he saw backup minutes. I'm curious as to how he performed when damarcus and lamarcus went to the Bench. On a consistent basis. There must be something else. Looking at that clip he looks like one of the best PFs to play the game.

I will be estatic if we bring him in regardless

LIVE BODY. HIGH MOTOR. Basically would replace Acy and Amundsen as an energy guy. Robinson came out of college with an NBA body. He's one of the young prospects that I thought Phil might take a look at in FA. He's kind of an old school PF. He's more of a garbage man and from what i've seen has a basic offensive game. Hard to know how he'd do in the Triangle. My guess is that he's a younger version of Lou Amundson. I would hope Phil would have interest.

per 36 minutes last year he was at 14ppg and 12rpg. he doesn't have a ton of offensive polish, but he plays with energy and is a very good defender. i think of him as a potentially a young kurt thomas with more athleticism/hops.

I would definitely take a shot on this dude. I was just talking about getting him in FA in this thread and maybe one or two others: http://www.ultimateknicks.com/forum/topic.asp?t=49318&page=4.

If he's available now, go get him NOW! Take the shot. get him for the rest of the year and if he plays well, set him up with a 2-3 year deal at reasonable money.. Just my humble opinion but this guy's upside is much higher than Acy's and Amundson's. Not even close. Sacramento's nuts -- they drafted this guy very high -- they should've committed to him and played him big mins. right away. How do you not even try to fully realize a Demarcus Cousins/Thomas Robinson duo up front?!? They never gave that a chance..

It sounds like the heat might get Blatche. Hopefully that happens and the Knicks get robinson.

I would be willing to co-sign this signing. Give TRob a chance here. I think we will be surprised. I would take a minimum contract for the balance of this year and next year.
You know I gonna spin wit it
