Since Lin left, things have only gotten worse.
Hi, did you enjoy the second round of the playoffs? did you enjoy watching PLAYERS THAT ACTUALLY PLAYED IN THE PLAYOFFS?

Linsanity was the last time the Knicks played true team basketball and had clear rock solid leadership with a future in the locker room. The Knicks would have simply been better off keeping Lin, Chandler, Jeffries and Novak and trading off Melo. The entire trajectory of the franchise would be different.
Jeffries and Novak. You are truly a troubled soul. What about Landry Fields? Toney Douglas?
TripleThreat wrote:The entire Calderon problem is an offshoot of the decision to push Lin off the roster. Of course some of you are going to push the CAA induced media narrative that Lin was a selfish contract hungry mercenary. Never mind he signed the only deal in front of him, which the Knicks told him to pursue ( if they valued him and wanted him, should have signed him without all the pomp and circumstance and risk) That Knicks front office execs were in hiding to avoid getting handed the offer sheet to start the time clock on it was pathetic. The Knicks found something, albeit via almost dumb luck, that worked for them. It only lasted a few weeks because Melo came back, Melo dogged it until Pringles got clipped, because he couldn't handle the Lin spotlight.
Riiiiiight....Melo put the invisible needles in Lin's knee braces and made him 70% of 85% of the square root of 5 nearly unavailable for the playoffs. Lin's knees and sitting out was all on Melo dogging it. And Lin signing with Houston to be the next Yao netted us broken Jose, three years later, courtesy of ResidentEvilMelo. You are truly insane.
TripleThreat wrote:Melo has gotten virtually everything he wanted from the Knicks. And where has it gotten this franchise?
It got us into the playoffs for 3 seasons. Your dream diety gave us two weeks of brilliant fizzle that didn't last, and got positively OWNED and embarrassed by DWill, who now sits the bench for the Nyets. Or do you not remember that? Do you remember the turnover rate of your one hit wonder god of team basketball?
Do you sit up at night wondering if Melo is counting all that money?
TripleThreat wrote:Every positive aspect of the Linsanity situation has been shipped off. And have the Knicks gotten better or worse?
Lin got shipped to Houston. Did they get better or worse? Go back and watch the Patrick Beverly highlights. Novak couldn't guard you and was less than useless in the playoffs. How's his career trajectory going for you now? I don't even know what you base your fascination of JJ Fishlips on, but I doubt it's worth talking about.
TripleThreat wrote:It's not MeloHate, nor is it LinLove, it's Knicks Loyalty. I'm loyal to the Knicks, not Melo. Melo behaves in a manner like he's above the team, above doing the dirty work needed to win, above doing the things required of a "franchise player"
Like logging more minutes and playing on hurt knees and shoulders? OH WAIT, HE'S LYING ABOUT BEING HURT. Except, that he's really hurt when we might be wasting money paying him to score and rebound. Check.
TripleThreat wrote:I don't "hate" Melo, I'm just not going to sit here and excuse his behavior, and try to rationalize it like some of you. He's a coach killer, selfish no defense low BB IQ chucker who simply says stupid thing after stupid thing in the press while showing off his latest hat. Right now he's risking further injury, if he's truly hurt at all, just to make it to the All Star game simply for his branding. Great for Melo's branding, but is it great for the Knicks investment in the next four years of him?
Excuse his behaviour? Like playing more minutes than anyone on the team? Like carrying mostly old bags of tripe to the playoffs for three years? You obviously know for certain that there's nothing wrong with his left knee, since you are on intimate terms with the interior of his knee cap. You seriously need therapy.
You don't "hate" Melo. You just "hate" his hats. And all his lies about being hurt. And all the risks he takes while playing not really hurt. And all the stupid things he says. And his brand. And the money the Knicks are paying him, don't forget all that money.
You don't "love" Lin. You just are fixated on a two-week stretch that got you all hot and gooey and that passed quicker than farts through a goose. It lasted TWO FUHHCKIN WEEKS. Your hero never appeared in one playoff game, after single-handedly restoring order to the Knicks basketball universe, in your humble opinion.

Maybe there should be a psychological study done to explain why some folks are ok setting the bar so goddamn low in regards to their loyalty to the Knicks.
Do you really need a 70 year old geriatric first time GM making 60 million plus a first time coach making 25 million to basically tell you that you need to play team basketball to win? The Knicks could have had that if they just left things alone with Lin, accepted they got a gift from the basketball gods, to fill a position of need, at no cost to acquire, who gave them leadership and international appeal and galvanized team basketball and made players around him better.
You worry a helluvalot about Jim Dolan's money, don't you? Maybe you should focus your high bar loyalty on basketball instead of accounting. Your 70 year old geriatric also has how many rings? Along with the rings and experience your insipidly overpaid first time coach has? You think some low rent nobodies with no credibility whatsoever can come along and cut the mustard in this environment? By the way, What was your opinion of geriatric Donnie Walsh?
Do you whine at the hot dog stand for hours on end? Wake up, this is NYC buddy, everything costs more here.
TripleThreat wrote:The Knicks could have saved a hell of a lot of front office money, saved a hell of alot of team assets and have been playing the game the right way since Linsanity started. And if the team won or lost, they would have played team ball, playing the right way, playing tough in a way that Knicks fans could be proud of every night.
Are you watching Langston and Lance and Amundson? Are you watching your low BBIQ chucker hitting threes and making washed up Stat look good? Or are you too busy counting Melo's money? Win or lose, you don't "hate" Melo. Got it.
