I think he will be fine--he's a keeper. He certainly struggled through but as the floor becomes bigger with more shot makes and facilitators---Tim Hardaway JR can fit right into the pie. He has 21 rebounds and 17 assists in his last 7 games--the best streak in his short career.

Agree. I also agree with Wally that he seems to be a better fit coming off the bench.

He's still just a kid. I think people let their frustration with other players and the team in general affect their thinking. IMO you can't be so quick to give up on draft picks with talent when they struggle.

Part of the reason THJ is playing better is that the execution of the team as a whole is improved. That has an impact on the rhythm of a player where he's not questioning what he's supposed to do but instead is reacting in the moment in the right way because everything before that was right. Passing is sharper and cuts are harder, guys are filling gaps and showing when they're supposed to. It's just a better environment for THJ to thrive in and develop. Guys are filling roles. Amundson is doing exactly what the team needs him to do and even tho he's an awful offensive player he moves the ball, hustles and defends.
THJ was infected with the negativity of the previous guys and now the culture is changed and he's adapting to this new vibe.

his shot is starting to fall... he's taking slightly better shots... but other than that there hasn't been too much of a difference..

It still remains to be seen. I still don't like his ****iness behind the three point line. I love THJ, and I am happy to see that he is doing a much better job defending, passing, and rebounding the ball. I believe Clyde had a talk with Phil about Fisher's treatment of THJ, because now I see Fisher counseling the young dudes right on the sidelines; which in my opinion is the way you coach young players.
Thank God Fisher is no longer our coach, now let's get Calderon out of here:)

they are not starting to fall. They fell.

And now, I am sure that he will seesaw just like always.

As Ive said, can we once have a 10 game stretch where he is consistently and efficiently hitting shots?

so here is what phil is thinking ....

Dude he's so young, his shot reminds me of Reggie his release and the type of offensive game ... He needs to work on his acting a little more .

I love him, but his defense is simply atrocious. Other teams key in on him and attack. He's going to have to work hard on his D.

He'll look even better next year if we improve the talent and guys continue to buy in to the system.

I rocked for the kid the HARDWAY this yr

Was rebuffed quite often that Smith and Shump were better options

He's not out of the woods yet, I thought he'd need about 10-15gms

Without any shenanigans from the bench

I hope he continues to get better he was very open and honest

About his shortcomings and vowed to continue working on them

We need to see sustainable and more efficient play offensively and defensively

Shump and maybe even JR are still better options. Unfortunate Shump was a casualty of ridding themselves of JR

If not for Shumperts contract situation I would rather see a Galloway/Shumpert backcourt than Galloway/THJ

He hasn't developed a basketball IQ yet. Takes way too many three pointers and doesn't drive the ball enough. He is someone that really needs to be coached and taught how to play defense and score within the flow of the game.

But, he can score and if he plays the right way can get to the line. He's definitely someone we really need to show big improvement in order to get to the next level. Hopefully with Galloway, Thomas and a few other guys working hard and being professionals it rubs off on him and begins to help his game mature.

There was talk Amar'e may come back on a smaller deal

Phil appreciates his work ethic and sacrifices made this season

Hope he sleeps on this over and over and has second thoughts to do the right thing

Both should have been waived a long time ago

Tim Hardaway JR is starting to pick it up
