And the T-Wolves and Sixers take our lotto spot, I will become an actual Melo hater. WTF is the purpose besides exposing your brand?

If he was too hurt while the ship was sinking fast down into the deep deep abyss, there's no way the Knicks should allow him to play in the London game and he should get fined, big time, if he plays in the all star game.

What I am saying isn't hating. It's truth.

Melo's played most of our games and were 5-35. The only thing that would hurt the Knicks is a catastrophic compensation knee injury which would put him out for 2015.

It would be in the Knicks's best interests for Carmelo to get the surgery TODAY. If he is healed up--he can become a trade asset again with a 4 year 92 mm$ contract and next year only 22. Despite some distaste for him here--I would have to think around the NBA Carmelo is still a VERY highly thought of player. You here many top NBA players saying that Melo is the toughest man to guard in the NBA. There are people ho devalue him because he is simply here and were not good. But put him in the right situation and I'm sure he can be a huge benefit to that club. Right now he's holding the club paying his salary hostage. Im not worried about Melo helping us win ball games--thats all over. I just want Melo to take care of the leg so hes healthy and gices the Knicks options. IF its a small issue--he could essentially be cleared to go well before the 2015 draft.

OK... I will change my statement...

If Melo plays in the London and all star game only to have him f' his knee up even further, thus, diminishing his trade value to zero, I will become an actual Melo hater.

I have to think Melo could help us win maybe a tad though, which even that has me worried. Even horrific as all hell teams can catch a mini winning streak here and there.

what message does his playing in London send to his team mates? He's not really there for them- more worried about his brand?

If I am on the Knicks, then I'm out for myself - and there is no 'I' in team.

People keep talking about Melo the trade asset but that just won't happen.

The "rebuilding" talk this year is only because of the horrible record and the fact we lose most of our expiring contracts this offseason, but this isn't a true rebuilding with Melo in place. Phil talked about fitting dominant figures in a jigsaw and that was exactly what he tried with Melo, but he will be forced to try again, with a new set of players that will undoubtedly be his responsibility.

Melo should have surgery and the shoddy medical history of the Knicks its what scares most of us. They should stop him from playing, but seems like they wont. Thats a worry. Another is the triangle being an impossible system to play and win without the top star in the league.

Our future is as uncertain as ever. Its scary.

The problem is that Melo has a lot of pull in the organization which isnt a good thing. Also we know James Dolan still runs the show at least when it comes to melo. If Dolan and Melo wants him to play then it doesnt matter what phil or the medical staff think

No trade in his contract. But I would love to move Melo for picks. I'll send him to the Bulls today for Butler, Gibson and McDermott or their pick. Maybe not today but after the season, I want the top lottery pick.

So the plan is we spend the rest of the season praying for ping pong?
If he sits, he's a 24 million dollar heartless albatross. (Yes, I realize for some, Melo is this no matter what he does)
If he plays, he's a brand frenzied idiot who's ruining our chance for the Okafor Sweepstakes.

Avoid the rush, just hate Melo now. <-- T-shirts are available

You'll have a few strong friends in here for the rest of the season, should the losing continue unabated.

Melo want to play in 2 pick-up games... let him play.
I think NBA have secretive executive order send to Bucks and All-stars to handle Melo as China glass.
See him getting his brand-pleasing points by the half in London and sit after this to let Knicks lose.
And do not expect him to play in any other games but this 2.
He is not the brightest boy on the block but not complete idiot also.

If you think that the Knicks and the league weren't trying to ensure that him and/or Amare would play tonight, you're sorely mistaken. With tickets starting at 126GBP in a sold out arena, they want NBA players on the floor to grow the game globally. You are living in a bubble if you think this would be treated like a US game where players are announced out randomly 60 min before the game.

Two games, then shut him down for the season. Get the surgery. Be ready to roll next season. I like the trade idea to start a legit rebuild. But I don't think that will happen. We're stuck with Melo, which is not such a bad place to be. The dude is one of the best offensive players in the game today. His contract looks bad now, but come 2016 it will be fine.

Yes, JROD, we're taking a risk on ping pong balls. But you gotta be in it to win it. Sometimes you get runners and win a big hand. Maybe this is our time. Better than starphucking IMO.

wahat the **** is this melo brand ****? does melo even have a brand? brand is the most overly-used word in sports these days. jordan has a brand, lebron has a brand, tiger woods has a brand, nobody else in sports really has a brand, so the constant talk of it is nonsense.

People seem to refuse to acknowledge this fact. This past off-season should have given people some insight into what the market will bare in future FA periods.

Bulls are maxing out Butler and keeping him. However something like Melo/Calderon for Rose/Gibson plus their two first rounders this year (currently 11 and 18) would work.

Gibson/Rose come off the books at the same time (2 years) and the 3 guys we draft this year (ours + 2 picks from the Bulls) would still be under their rookie deals, so your looking at a scenario where we have some high quality talent in rookie deals with a massive amount of cap space 2 years from now.

To me thats works for both teams. Rose isnt a star anymore. He's just a good player. That may improve, but at face value I think that trade really helps. Maybe they can have THjr and we take McDermott. Both are struggling and could use a change of scenery

This Dude is not going to be traded any time soon..Mini and philly are trying to win games not tank. They have been getting top picks for the last 3 yrs, and trading them away because those pick haven't done anything to bring them out of the bottom of the heap. Top pick after top pick, and they still suck yr after yr.

When are ppl going to wake up, the worse record rarely gets the #1 pick..do your darn research
