I like what Galloway and Early bring to the table. THJ is getting really disappointing. Hou wasn't even really attempting to defend and he couldn't get anything going.

Even in SL and Pre Season the kids seemed to look much better running the system. Also they actually try to run which is also part of the Triangle but people don't realize that you can run and get easy points. It's only half court if the defense is back and you have no advantages.

When you have guys you can root for--its ok to accept losing.

I just don't know how anyone who watches Calderon wouldnt want to either dump him--even if that meant Hardaway. I don't even think hardaway is really that good--or maybe just not here where this team is. he s dreadful on D and is severely inconsistent.

I think what you saw was more ballers--meaning guys who have all around play--compared to the one way Hardaway. The only thing play guys like Prigs Calderon and Smith does is guarantee a loss which is ok too.

Knicks are no match for the Rockets, but we got to watch our kids put up a fight and actually play well together.

Cleanthony Early 6-of-10 for 16 points, 6 rebounds.
Travis Wear 9-of-16, 21 points.
Langston Galloway 6-of-10, 19 points.

The guys people enjoyed watching tonight played significant minutes with positive results, at least in terms of the +/- numbers. They were also playing against Houston's starters at many points in the game.

The starters are on notice that they will not play starter minutes if they don't do the job, and we may have seen some players worth developing and keeping.

EnySpree: Can we agree to agree not to mention Phil Jackson and triangle for the rest of our lives?

I hope Phil sees what we sees and starts from scratch with these guys, these guys worked hard and played hard. I big factor why we lost by so many was because of the continous poor coaching of guarding the 3 point line. 83% of the rockets shots were 3s yet we still left it open. Could it be part of the tank? maybe or its just the ignorance of coaching which I hope to see signs of improvement.

It was awesome. The Knicks have been bad in the past and never went there with player development. Love the youth. Love the team in Westchester. These guys are fun to watch.

I agree that hes garbage. I disagree with dumping him because of his link with gasol. Phil is in a tough spot.

I don't know. I watched and thought our guys - these young guys- were outmanned even against Houston's 2nd unit.

Yes, they had their moments.

But my gosh is this squad atrocious.

I don't know. I saw a stat that said the starters on the knicks were outscored 26-87. I thought the kids looked good.

I agree. IMO, the kids have no baggage and are willing to learn and will do anything to stick in the NBA. The Vets, like JR, Stat,Calderon and Melo are too stuck in the way they are used to playing the game. For me, that alone is why NY struggles even with Melo there. I think the offense can actually create open looks if they run it right. How many open jumpers does JaSmith get!? Imagine if Carmelo was getting them? or Stat?

The vet guys are not adapting and that is why the team has struggled so much. Explain to me how a undrafted player like Galloway can come in and look so good? IMO, it is simply because he is trying to play the system and he is flat out trying anything to help the team (did you see him defend Harden? Never gave him an easy look!, Never!). IF all players, Yes, Melo and Stat too, had that attitiude, then no way this team is 5-34.

Just my $.02

I didn't say our starters were good! They suck bad too!

I don't see a big future for any of these guys - that doesn't mean I can't root for them. As a long time Met fan, I'm conditioned to rooting for the underdog.

Yes, I can maybe see one or two of these guys having a future role on this squad- but they will be filler/role players. And that is certainly ok.

I think the 3 guys nix mentioned could be good bench players next year. Absolutely no reason with a little more talent around them they couldnt be good role players. If this season yielded 3 cheap role player for the roster next year AND a stud in the draft I would say Phil accomplished a lot in a purge year.

If you were expecting the Knicks group to dominate the Houston Rockets in any way then I don't know what to tell you.

You gotta let go the losing and just enjoy what's going on. We're not going to all of a sudden win 20 straight. We're letting the young guys play. It literally was alot of fun watching them.
