Lmao!!! This is true. I don't really like anyone on the list truthfully. Knicks will be able to sign someone or possibly 2 if we scoop the cheaper ones. That's why i chose Milsap and Gasol. We'd definitely be the slowest team in the league lol

Gasol is playing right now like he wants max. Its also not a lock he leaves Memphis. I don't think we would be able to afford both Milsap and Gasol unless we dump Jr's contract.

We need to absolutely hit on our draft pick. Sign a couple of good value fits. Can't look to turn into a championship team all in one off season. Need to maintain flexibility to continue to progress.

Well there's more players available. You would have to click the link to see the guys bleacher report highlights.

Maxing out DeAndre Jordan to play in the triangle? Maxing it Leanard to play the 4 next to Melo? That's doesn't make sense either

I'd love to unload jr and sign gasol and Danny green next summer. Green is a New Yorker and the perfect 2-way guard for this team. Calderon, green, Melo, Acy, and gasol with shumpert, Larkin, hardaway jr, wear, and Aldridge off the bench. Then the following summer use extra cap space to upgrade the PF position and bench.

Knicks talked to Pacers about trading JR for Copeland, whose contract expires. So Phil clearly aiming at max flexibility for next year.

Good call on Green. We should be able to draft a PF or C. But we could also look for a stop gap like West.

Vets like Green and West would be sound moves.

Kawhi is who I would want the most. Milsap is so criminally underrated its ridiculous. I wouldn't mind at all if the Knicks snagged him.

Overall Id much rather Phil target a couple quality guys instead of blowing the entire wad on someone like Gasol or Rondo.

Teltovic is a big stretch 4 who can rebound.
Nets are in Salary Cap hell and this guy is getting minutes.
Not sure what they'll do there but this kid can play. Not a star type move, but solid.

We should go after Daniel Day Lewis. If he can look that much like Lincoln, then he could surely play like Michael Jordan too.

PGs- Reggie Jackson, Patrick Beverly(maybe a poison pill?/Rondo to Hou?), Gragic(doubtfull), Lin,(draft)

SGs- Wesley Matthews, Danny Green, Aaron Afflalo

SFs- Kris Middleton, Tobias Harris

PFs- Paul Millsap, Brandon Bass(probably on cheap), Tristen Thompson,

PF/C- Greg Monroe(Al Jefferson Jr with better passing?) needs to improve his jumper (I'd choose the cheaper Bass and would not blink and eye although Bass might be cheap enough to get both or another PF plus another player. I see him as a MLE player.

Cs- Gasol, Asik, Lopez

The big problem with the Knicks next year

Were going to likely have to renounce almost every big but that leaves us with 40.5mm on the books not including our draft pick.

When we try to "sell" a free agent --this is the team you are selling

C- No one

PF--No one

F--Melo

G-J R Smith

PG Jose Calderon (35 years old)

back up C--no one
back up PF --Quincy Acy(if we opt in on him)
back up 2 G Tim Hardaway

bench player C Early

So essentially we will have a team that is one year older with many more vacancies zero front-line except perhaps Acy and what 18mm to spend? Oh yeah if Shumpert plays well this year--you can make that salary cap less because it might cost 5+mm to retain him.

I mean if you do take an honest look 4ward--we need a high value draft pick and we might play ourselves out of 1 to finish in the 8 seed and get blown out b y anyone in the top spot.

Gasol is slow; while Millsap is quick enough to cover 3's. I really like that frontcourt you came up with. Excellent passing and each person in the frontcourt has an inside-outside game. But I think its a long shot that we get Marc Gasol into a Knick uniform although I'd love it if we did. More likely than not, we'll have to settle for Greg Monroe as our 5, which I have mixed feelings on.

P.S., with key members of the Nuggets core struggling, I'd still look into parlaying a deal with them. I think the ex-Knicks they have (and Darrell Arthur) would fit the triangle like a glove. Unfortunately, those guys are not great rebounders, so there would be some cause for concern. I doubt they'd put us into contention but would certainly make be an improvement and would make things interesting.

I agree the Nuggets look like a team that desperately needs to flush out a bit. I personally do not think FA next year is that great--rather flush out and be realistic for 2016. I already made a post where Id be willing to take on Mcgee's contract for next year IF I get Greene and this years top 5 restricted #1. We need cheap assets that can be material gains to build a core foundation. If you take an honest look at our situation--we need two years at a minimum to revamp. That is UNLESS multiple teams want to give us longer contracts for our ending contracts--weve tried that before and failed--but it is an option.

I definitely think that McGee gets a bad rap, some deserved but most of it overstated. People tend to look at him and view him in terms of what he SHOULD be, instead of what he can do. I'm watching the Nuggets game as we speak and it's clear that he can have some value to an NBA franchise, if he's coming off the bench. Paying a backup $11 million/yr makes fans a bit weary but McGee wouldn't be attainable if he wasn't a bit overpaid. In any case, I'd take a waiver on the guy at the right price. I don't know if we could extract a pick from that Nuggets team but I suspect that they'd be willing to offer several core players if it allowed them to condense an extremely deep roster and to save some money in the process.
