Anyone have any tips about what to do to beat this bull**** wrap? I've gotten 2 in the past and have no interest in continuing to supplement the government, who need to subsidize tax breaks for the rich by ticketing my broke ass for doing 15mph-19mph on a parkway that ****ing slopes downward. Have any of you guys been through this?

You can't really fight speeding tickets. My friend had video evidence proving he didn't run a red light, took it to court and got a reduced fine. This is with indisputable evidence he did nothing wrong. Unless you have some type of proof, which is very difficult for a speeding ticket, you're out of luck.

The judges are in on it, they don't really care if you're innocent or not.

In New Jersey, they have you pay even more to not get points if you want that option.

But the whole thing is a scam.

Wishing everyone well. I enjoyed posting here for a while, but as I matured I realized this forum isn't for me. We all evolve. Thanks for the memories everyone.

definitely go to court, you may have to pay, but no points..that goes for NYC parking tickets, every time I went to court they reduce it more than 60% or flat out dismissed it for any type of excuse..

And that's the thing. I know the entire system is nothing more than a rachet. That facts been reinforced from what I've heard from lawyers. They all tell me that they can't get me off BUT can somehow magically avoid my insurance from finding out while parring down my ticket cost for the nominal price of +$350. How much you want to bet that judges are getting a cut?

You shouldn't need a lawyer for traffic court. Usually if you go they reduce the fine or change the ticket so you don't get points.

It depends if your drivers license is from nj then it will count as points on your license out of state no points ...you can set up a payment plan but if your from jersey I recommend taking drivers awareness classes otherwise your insurance will go way up ... The class is around 200 bucks ..you can do it online it looks great to do it before your court date ... You might not even have to go and mail in your drivers awareness certificate to the Court district ... If you don't pay a warrant will go out for your arrest ... But if your cool with never driving in jersey for the next 7 years you don't have to pay ... They won't come after you if your in NYC ... State is broke as dirt so they can't pay for the transportation to bring you in . After 7 years your warrant gets erased

I don't particularly care about the points, presuming that they are not linked to my insurance premiums going up. I've only got 6 points so far (all speeding tickets), which leaves me with 9 points worth of clearance. Besides, I've gone in once before and those lying ****suckers told me that if I plead "nolo contendere" that I'd receive no points and my insurance wouldn't find out. That obviously didn't happen and was somehow slapped with a $330 fine (with no prior offenses), while some white chick going just as fast only received $220 fine. The entire thing had left me disenchanted, which is why I'm adamant about not giving up any more money to these ****ers.

FYI, I got the ticket in GA and not Jersey. Either way, the advice helps because the court system is all the same flavors of ****. From what you guys told, I'm going to plead "not guilty" and take this **** to court. Governments are so incompetent that I'm banking on them ****ing up the paperwork after I appeal the decision.

I was driving 97 on Turnpike NJ in 55 mile zone...
Get stopped and officer told me if I will not go to court he will give me "Did not obey NJ turnpike traffic signs". This was 2 points and $110 at a time (3 years back).
I stopped right away, confessed to all officer said and was very polite.
So I agreed to not go to court. He told me to slow down and have a nice day.
Since then I am not driving faster that 10-15 miles over the limit and try to stay in the pack.
Also I am always watching for cups and never try to cut the distance to next car packs too fast.
So no tickets since... good willing...
also get stopped locally driving 65 in 35 mile zone... We talked with officer about Rangers game and that the Knicks sucks.
He gave me a ticket for not having insurance paper with me ($65)... and let me go.
Be nice man and they will be nice to you.

I got an expired inspection sticker ticket. The most BS of tickets. I was like WTF why does my car need to be inspected and a car from other states using my state's highway doesn't need to be inspected. The car is f'ing two years old 8500 miles on it why the hell does it need inspecting.

Maybe you should slow down instead of blaming the system, judges, white chicks and take ownership in it!

Your speeding and you keep getting pulled like your a victim!

municipalities need the revenue. Of course the Judges are in on it! The municipalities pay their salary!!!
The Laywers get clients, the court clerks get paid, etc etc..........

Your a smart fellow and you know all this but still you speed? You continue to do the activity then expect a different result?
Slow down, not because its the law, or the right thing to do, but because you have better things to do with your money!!!

I usually just tell the truth and not act hostile or upset. Few months ago I got pulled and told the guy I was heading to a buisness function and as running late. He said "hang on, we'll get you their in time". He checked I was clean (no points, warrents) and let me off with a warning.

I always:

PUll over so they are safe, it relax's them if they don't have to be too close to traffic.
Open my windows so when they approach the car they can see who is in it, and my hands on the wheel.
I let him/her know I do not carry any weapons and my wallet is in my jacket, and registration is in the box. This way he understands my movements.

Cops get killed in stops and are nervous. They might be pricks and arrogant but sometimes they are good people as well and have families to go home to. IN any event I want them to do me a favor and I can dictate (sometimes) how the stop is going to go.

Ive been lucky, haven't gotten a speeding ticket in 25 years (knocks on wood) not for the lack of speeding. I drove from Fla to NC round trip a couple of years ago averaging 90 mph for most of the way with no radar detector. One tip is not to slam on your brakes when you see a cop car, that's as good as a guilty plea right there. Take your foot off the gas and act like nothing is wrong.

If you are pulled over one thing that will help your case is to take out your wallet before the cop arrives and put it on the dashboard with the car keys and keep both hands on top of the steering wheel and look straight ahead. Some cops are very nervous when they pull someone over, not knowing what to expect. I got pulled over once for a red light violation and Im positive that doing this got me off with a warning. A doctor gave me this advice a long time ago and I never got a ticket when I did that.

Another thing that helps are those police stickers like a Sheriff's Association or PBA. I once got pulled over and the cop craned his neck to look over at the PBA sticker I had on the front left corner of my windshield, and let me off with a warning.

Haven't used a radar detector since the 80s but Im driving to the west coast in the next 4 months and Im thinking of getting this hidden radar detector/jammer. Worth checking out. Youtube has plenty of videos of it in action, one caught 2 cops from almost 4 miles away, at the bottom of a hill with this model.

As for your ticket, I seriously doubt the judge will care if you are coming over a hill if you were that much over the speed limit, 10mph maybe. Good luck.

About five miles back I had a brush with the CHP. Not stopped or pulled over: nothing routine. I always drive properly. A bit fast, perhaps, but always with consummate skill and a natural feel for the road that even cops recognize. No cop was ever born who isn't a sucker for a finely-executed hi-speed Controlled Drift all the way around one of those cloverleaf freeway interchanges.

Few people understand the psychology of dealing with a highway traffic cop. Your normal speeder will panic and immediately pull over to the side when he sees the big red light behind him ... and then he will start apologizing, begging for mercy.

This is wrong. It arouses contempt in the cop-heart. The thing to do -- when you're running along about a hundred or so and you suddenly find a red-flashing CHP-tracker on your trail -- what you want to do then is accelerate. Never pull over with the first siren-howl. Mash it down and make the bastard chase you at speeds up to 120 all the way to the next exit. He will follow. But he won't know what to make of your blinker-signal that says you're about to turn right.

This is to let him know you're looking for a proper place to pull off and talk ... keep signaling and hope for an off-ramp, one of those uphill side-loops with a sign saying "Max Speed 25" ... and the trick, at this point, is to suddenly leave the freeway and take him into the chute at no less than a hundred miles an hour.

He will lock his brakes about the same time you lock yours, but it will take him a moment to realize that he's about to make a 180-degree turn at this speed ... but you will be ready for it, braced for the Gs and the fast heel-toe work, and with any luck at all you will have come to a complete stop off the road at the top of the turn and be standing beside your automobile by the time he catches up.

He will not be reasonable at first ... but no matter. Let him calm down. He will want the first word. Let him have it. His brain will be in a turmoil: he may begin jabbering, or even pull his gun. Let him unwind; keep smiling. The idea is to show him that you were always in total control of yourself and your vehicle -- while he lost control of everything.
