Yikes, Suns making Rich Paul look Rich

Okay now officially knock Bledsoe off the list

I bet Dragic feels some type of way

It's gonna be fun watching them play

Throwing in a hefty mix of

Isiah Thomas in the backcourt with a dash of Ennis

Dragic may get moved to Indiana

They want him the most

And now Rich Paul moves on to

This ridiculous contract demand

http://www.cbssports.com/nba/eye-on-basketball/24721937/report-cavs-tristan-thompson-will-ask-for-upwards-of-11m-per-season

Cleveland Cavaliers big man Tristan Thompson is seeking upwards of $11 million per season on his next contract, according to the Akron Beacon Journal's Jason Lloyd. He's eligible for an extension before Oct. 31, and he'll be a restricted free agent next summer.

He will ask for the type of money previously given to Derrick Favors (four years, $49 million) and Larry Sanders (four years, $44 million). What will hurt Thompson's case, however, is the Greg Monroe saga. Monroe, by all accounts a better player than Thompson, was forced to sign a one-year qualifying offer with the Pistons after failing to reach agreement on a long-term contract with anyone this summer. He will now be an unrestricted free agent next summer.

Kinda suprised. Wont be surprised by how many games Bledsoe misses over the course of this deal.

I've wanted this guy since he was a backup on the Clippers. I saw the potential back then as an upper echelon starting PG and he proved it last year. Would've been one hell of a young 2-way talent to team up with Melo. Would've been great for us. Oh well...Or maybe not -- maybe we explore a trade for him when the time comes. PHX has a lot of PGs...Let's see.

There's definitely a trade in the works. Bledsoe still has value and the suns figure they could flip him and Dragic at anytime. No need for them to panic and make a deal they don't want.

That Tristan Thompson salary demand is re-goddamn-diculous. Thompson is not very good. Wow.

Dragic is hitting free agency soon, will be 30 and looking for a huge payday. Bledsoe is risky but is very young and at around 14 mil a year this contract is uber tradeable assuming he doesnt get injured. I guess they figure it's riskier signing Dragic from 30-35 years old then a oft injured Bledsoe from 25-30.

Me too! Ive been pissed ever since there were reports the Clips offered Bledsoe to the Knicks for Shumpert. Dunno if that was more than a rumor but damn, I get mad everytime I think about it!

Which makes me assume they are trying to keep Dragic sweet (and want to re-sign him). Wonder if he's as good as Chris Smith...

I believe they signed Zoran Dragic as leverage to Goran
While Goran likely will not get an extension higher than Bledsoe, The Sun's are overpaying for his brother, taking a page out of us from JR Smith/Chris Smith
He reminds of David Kahn on The Twolves, however, his G's actually have lots of talent and will likely translate, though can not fully develop them all or get back good value because they cannot pay them all

But

Unlike Chris Smith, Zoran actually has the ability to be a practice player, however, is no where near the talents of

Archie Goodwin, another Kentucky alumuni like Bledsoe, who can play both G positoins
Then their is their 1st round pick his season in Tyler Ennis

PG/SG Goran Dragic
PG/SG Bledsoe

It is very possible the Sun's are looking to deal either Dragic or Bledsoe in the future after resigning them, adding to their multiple asset's young players developing, and cap space
They likely will want multiple draft picks/talents in other positions and possibly ALL STARS caliber talents, waiting for their day to SIGN their own Lebron James, while likely keeping Bledsoe for his DEF/versatility/and speed/quickness to attract their STAR

I think they will eventually resign Dragic and deal him for the highest bidder and his contract would be in the range of 12m +
Looking for a trade exemption and mulitple picks

backups G's
=============
Isiah Thomas
Arhcie Goodwin
Tyler Ennis
Zoran Dragic

G/F's
===========
Gereld Green
PJ Tucker *just resigned but Green played very well for The Sun's but is unlikely to resign, he was also strong enough to be used on Blake Griffen though giving up much size, The Sun's can trade some of their G's that have potential who released Ish Smith and former 1st round pick in Kendall Marshall*

F's
=======
though has very good handle, might be able to play SG to PF, depending on his development
1st round pick in TJ Warren

Marcus Morris
Anthony Tolliver *a cheap replacement to Frye with a team option on 2nd year for 3m that could be a fill in for a trade*

F/C
=======
Markeif Morris *playing the stretch 4/5 that Channing Frye excelled at after Boris Diaw with much better range than Diaw but not nearly as talented*
Miles Plumlee *once a throw with Gereld Green*

http://basketball.realgm.com/nba/draft/future_drafts/detailed

http://hoopshype.com/salaries/phoenix.htm

Sun's own all of their own picks and own 2 1st rounders in next summers draft, adding their own 1st rounder and 2nd rounder, as well as Bogdanvic stashed in Euro, another G/F that is a young sharp shooter

2015 first round draft pick from Minnesota
Minnesota's 1st round pick to Phoenix protected for selections 1-12 in 2015 and 1-12 in 2016; if Minnesota has not conveyed a 1st round pick to Phoenix by 2016, then Minnesota will instead convey its 2016 2nd round pick and 2017 2nd round pick to Phoenix [Minnesota-New Orleans-Phoenix, 7/27/2012]

2015 first round draft pick from L.A. Lakers
L.A. Lakers' 1st round pick to Phoenix protected for selections 1-5 in 2015, 1-3 in 2016 and 1-3 in 2017 and unprotected in 2018 [L.A. Lakers-Phoenix, 7/11/2012]

IF the Sun's eventually deal some of their talents including Dragic, with the rise of the salary cap, it would not be impossible to trade/sign for talents like The Heat once did

Lebron
Durant
Noah

Bledsoe

and some of their young talents they have now, in addition to their future picks/asset/exemptions to use
They could have a very bright future

Even if they add 2 of the above talents in the future and could sign a Rudy Gay type talent or Marc Gasol/Hibbert

maybe

DeAndre Jordan/Asik, they have a lot of potential to do well

With the resigning of Bledsoe being a MUST to attract the next ALL STAR, his ability to be a LOCKDOWN defender and be a TIER 1 PG
In the end, his "max" contract leaves more than 10m compared to CA's current deal

Isaiah Thomas was so fun last year, put some good numbers to.
What did he do to get traded to be a backup?
Melo is stupid.
I think he took the 30mm or whatever they paid him--don't blame him at all. Phoenix runs a system thats guard centric. My guess is that Thomas will be a 6th man type.

Phil Jackson needs to start making moves now because the 2015 free agent well is drying up quickly. Looks like we'll have plenty of cap space with no one to spend it on besides Greg Monroe (who will be a surefire Knick).

That's what makes the 'build through free agency' so difficult- hardly any of the top players even make it to free agency. However the back up plan is to use your cap space to take on a salary in exchange for picks. You can then either use those picks or trade them to get players you do want. The problem with that is with the cap due to become much higher in a couple of seasons, that makes cap space pretty worthless for the first year or so the higher cap is introduced.

The other problem is, if we do bomb next offseason, we don't have our pick for 2016 so we'd be pretty much screwed.
