I believe he can't resign with the Knicks for 1 year, but if he clears waivers and doesn't sign with an NBA team, can he sign a D-League contract with the Westchester Knicks? I think a year in the D-league would give him the minutes he needs to develop. Last year, in 6 games with the Erie Bayhawks, he was beasting and after he was recalled he was still hot for a brief while until Cole started earning his minutes (for good reason).

Bad for him. It seems that his career is never smooth.

I kinda agree. I like the kid but i dont see the upside that many fans do. I like his outside shot for a big man but he doenst really play like a big guy on the inside. The one thing the Knicks need is more depth at C/PF

Wait, you want him back? He has now been jettisoned by another NBA team as unworthy. It's time to stop pining for this guy, he will never be a regular NBA player. He has the tools but apparently not the mental makeup required.

He proved that he doesn't want it. His body language suggest he is a low IQ rookie just trying to fit in. The reality is the kid is a grown man at this point with about 7 years professional experience. He is what he is. He's not what everyone thinks he is. He's got to find his nasty and play ball. He has big time talent with the incorrect mindset to succeed in any court let alone the nba. Seems to me he thinks he's going to be young forever. Bring it every single minute or go take the USPS test bitch.

DOesnt have anything to do with the player. We knew at the time that the Kings were dumping salary and were gonna let loose Ellington and Tyler.

He's doing fine:

Last year he was with the Pistons, but they cut him in July. As of now he is teamless

Yeah this was reported the day the trade was made.

Still Jeremy needs to refocus and decide if basketball is for him. He was traded for inferior talent. What the players lacked in talent they bring more energy and intangibles. Basically if Jeremy played like a 7 year pro then he would not be out the league right now

Tyler has much potential and showed flashes of his ability, last season but could not win the minutes over Woodson's favoritism
Comparable to the talents, youth, and potential to Anthony Randolph (not the actual game but his talents)

It is a disapointment on Tyler's part, not taking his opporutities to its fullest, after getting a chance after another wasted
If he actually spent the time this Summer, to develop his game, get in premiere NBA shape vs being completely out of shape period shows how serious he is taking it
I think he was one of our BEST PF/C's last season due to his combination of athleticism, mobility, size/length, ability to score in multiple ways from post up, OFF boards, a very decent shot, and ability to run up and down the floor

IF Tyler actually put the time to get in NBA shape and develop his game while working on his strenghts and weakness's, I think he can easily be a solid backup PF/C and even START on some teams
He has the physical talents to allow him to play both PF and C effectively however, lacks maturity and work ethic

Not having a paycheck is a good motivator.

You really think so? I know I'd rather have Quincy Acy over Jeremy Tyler any day. A little smaller but much tougher with better skills imo. Whatever skill Tyler does possess, it never really translated over to any meaningful NBA action and after seeing him up close now, I doubt it ever will...And different positions obviously, but you could argue Travis Outlaw is a better overall basketball player than Tyler too. More serviceable with better value esp. if he actually plays & contributes this coming season..

Another 2 guys we just picked up in the DL expansion draft (their rights anyway)---Richard Howell and Craig Brackins---I'd rather have over JT as well. Much higher ceilings. If developed properly and to the fullest, we could be looking at something VERY CLOSE to DeJuan Blair with Howell and maybe something close to a poor man's version of Shareef Abdur-Rahim or at least a younger version of Al Harrington/Rashard Lewis/Earl Clark maybe with Brackins...Maybe both of these guys are in the mix next yr and are eventually considered for SL, training camp and maybe even a spot on the Knicks' roster. Gotta see what kind of relationships we can build with them and their agents from now until then. Maybe we could get both of these guys in a Westchester uniform by the end of the DL season. Next year, there will be multiple frontcourt spots that will need to be filled. Very happy that both of these guys are at least blips on our radar now...Bottom line: losing JT was no big deal at all -- he was instantly replaced with a better talent in Quincy Acy and with even more superior talent in Howell/Brackins possibly waiting in the wings for next year.

Edit: Add DaJuan Summers' name to the mix. Along with Howell & Brackins, make that 3 forwards we got in the DL expansion draft I like better than Tyler.
