Apparently they have spoken to the Pistons about Hibbert for Monroe.

And you guys and the media like to say any trade rumor involving the knicks is stupid.

Dragic is worth more than Hibbert and cope... They a have nothing that Phoenix should want. I'd be annoyed if such a deal was accepted.

Thing is Bledsoe wants to get paid and Suns are the deepest team in the entire league at the PG position with a few development and high ceiling players on top of it

It makes sense for teams to offer other positions to try to get either Dragic or Bledsoe who both have shown they are indeed starting PGs that are young in this league already, that can still improve, especially Bledsoe and his lockdown potential on DEF

Not many bigs in the league. Hibbert is one.

Dragic in last year of contraxt and wants to get paid.

Question is does Hibbert live up to his contract? Shortage of bigs at any price in the NBA.

Im not saying it was a good offer.

I think Shump/Bargs for Hibbert works. I am not sure if they want to make a move mostly for cap space though. The guys they have targeted so far, Monroe and Dragic, would help them contend in the east.
It will be interesting to see if Roy's troubles were due to George sleeping with his girl. The Knicks don't have a Parker or George on their squad so he might be a good fit in ny.

The only thing I took from this story is that Roy Hibbert is on the block. Once the Pacers realize Hibbert's market value is little more than an expiring contract and some 2nd round picks, I think we should jump in and make an offer. Hibbert's lone, good season came with them running the triangle under Brian Shaw's oversight as an assistant coach/offensive coordinator, so maybe he can return to form with Derek Fisher at the helm. I'd love it if we could also get David West, Luis Scola and George Hill while we're at it. For something like that, I'd be willing to do a firesale of our youth (Larkin, THJr, Early, Acy, Shumpert, etc.) to make it happen.

I would expect a similar package for what we got for Chandler, but no more. His value has dropped and that contract is looking huge now.

Ugh...I don't like Hibbert. He's such a zero outside of the playoffs a couple years ago. I still can't believe the refs made him out to be a mini-Mutombo against us.

One of the first things Silver did after becoming commissioner was circulate a memo clamping down on the infamous 'Hibbert rules'- that year was ridiculous the way the refs bowed to his will, and cost us a possible series win!

did not here this, do you have a source? I was just sitting here thinking....if he was on the Knicks, the ref's would be like 'he isn't jumping straight up enough...you know like 2 degrees off center

The Pacers are talking to Shawn Marion. I guess Bird figures they can stll make the playoffs. If I was him I would try to get under the call and get a high Draft pick this year while Paul George is out. I think Paul getting hurt and losing Lance basically killed this groups run. They can retool and be brand new by the time he Paul George comes back

I wouldn't trade THJr though, so that does add a wrinkle because I'm sure that the Pacers would demand him. I might be overvaluing THJr a bit considering the open market for shooters/gunners (e.g. Kyle Korver, Anthony Morrow, Jodie Meeks). Then again, how many more seasons can we expect from a 33 year old (going on 34 year old) David West and a 34 year old (going on 35 year old) Luis Scola? That factor alone makes me reluctant to give up our best asset because outside of those 2 guys, we'd be getting the short end of the stick. I'd be willing to give them Larkin, Early, Acy, Shumpert, Aldrich and expiring contracts but nothing more beyond that.

Hibbert is a rim protecting version of Bargs. He is not efficient and doesn't rebound. He is not someone you trade for. Why take the Pacers problem off they're hands unless they are adding a 1st round pick to the mix? Let them stay capped out. Would I trade for West and Cope for Bargs, probably but I would have to think long and hard about the 2015 landscape.

That's what happens when you pull epic disappearing acts when it matters most. Never have seen a 7ft NBA baller have games where he couldnt grab a rebound, or even score a bucket for an entire game. Sure, from a 12th man in garbage time, but not from an All Star, and not as many bad games as Hibbert put up. Please keep him away from NY.
