Nice debut. Our backcourt just added some intrigue.

Galloway brings one skill to the table of which NBA teams can never get enough: long-range shooting. A four-year senior who never shot below 39 percent from 3 in any season, he has an enormous 6-8 wingpspan and improved his off-the-dribble game as he developed.

The Knicks had offensive outburst as it started early with point guard Shane Larkin leading the way as New York was up 17-3 in the first quarter. As the game progressed into the second quarter, former St. Joe Hawk Langston Galloway came off the bench and had a tremendous game in which his Knicks’ teammates were delighted to see.

The former Hawk had 17 points in 20 minutes off the bench for the Knicks. Galloway also had a very efficient day from the field shooting 7 of 10 and 1 of 2 from the three point line.

What's not to like?

They can protect him from the d league draft if no one else signs him. If the Knicks don't offer him a contract he can be signed by any team. They could use one of their 15 roster spots and let him learn in the d league.

The Answer Man Remembers Tastee Freeze, Right Up The Street From The MSG Training Center

Q. anrst: can he run the point?

A. Galloway had a mandate to score in college. His assist to turnover ratio at St Josephs was 2 to 1.

Worthy of an invite to Greenburgh to audition in October.

Nixluva is posting triangle screen grabs, even when nobody asks - Fishmike. LOL So are we going to reference that thread like the bible now? "The thread of Wroten Page 14 post 9" - EnySpree

Cartman718 - this thread is reserved for fans of Langston Galloway. The Jordan Henriquez fan club is down the hall on the left, just past the Mens Room.

I wouldn't mind watching our summer league roster go at it during the year! They give 100% effort and moved the ball great. I don't see that happening with our regular squad...

it would be really really cool if the NBA equiv of a walk on made the roster and actually as able to do some things. Would be a great story.

I can't believe he's only listed at 6'2 he seems bigger must be that 6'8 wingspan! Nice speed and shooting touch

The Long Shot: Larkin and Brown are joined by rookie point guard Langston Galloway (Last Season: St. Joseph’s). The Knicks signed Galloway after he went undrafted coming out of St. Joe’s. He’s not a pure point guard in terms of his playmaking skills but he has two assets Jackson likes: size (6’2” and 202 pounds) and shooting ability. Galloway can really fill it up, shooting at a 44.3 percent clip from three-point range as a senior (82.6 FT%) on his way to 17.7 points per game.

Galloway to me is a an Ellington type of player. Problem is he's not a PG and is undersized for an SG, even if he has a good wingspan. Still he had a good game yesterday and probably made our training camp or some other team's training camp.

Cameron Moore, whom I pointed out on the game thread, looks more the NBA part. 6'10" 230 F/C. Played at UAB and averaged close to 11 RPG as a senior. Has put up decent numbers in Europe. Scouting reports say he's a pogo stick of a rebounder. Roster has more of a need for him. Numbers game.

You mean kinda like John Starks did.

And we cut someone a few years back who ended up making it in the NBA with a couple other teams...

The kid is definitely going to stick with a team, I hope it's the Knicks. Brown really shouldn't take up a roster spot and Priggs, at his age, really should be moved to a contender like the Spurs to fill in while Mills gets healthy. From what I had read on Galloway, many teams were interested in drafting him, but might have overlooked him due to his age. He also has a fear of flying which he is showing a willingness to overcome, but still a concern for any team that is interested. I like that the kid has the courage to face his fear in the pursuit of realizing his dream.

He is also considered a hard worker, character guy. Another good find, but definitely not under the radar. If the Knicks don't sign him, another team will. He is NBA ready, just needs to continue to work on his PG skills
