I dont want to give players away just to get rid of them--Lebron was one thing but that is not happening. Well have a better chance to win with those guys and we need the size. Let them just come off the cap next year and play their way into contracts themselves.

Until we have better replacements, there is no reason to exile them which usually has a cost. Bargnani I have HOPE that he is healthy and the triangle revives his career and after 4 years of Amare I'd like to see him succeed and help the knicks!

More hope than logic, but this is the fan in me.

They're both bad defensively and you can't rely on either of them health wise.

That's a very good point. I think Phil would have made a deal at any cost if he had an agreement in principle with a player he felt was worth the effort. However, you do not do a deal like Clevland just did with Jack on blind faith. There is just not any valuable FAs in this class to do that for.

If the Knicks had space I would have love for them to go after stephenson but I would be concerned about him being back in NY. I would probably only do a 2 yr/$15M deal.

I think Melo really wants Pau. If the Knicks could get Pau I think Marc comes next year.

Granted on both points. (And Stat's contract isn't insured.)

So if you know those two points, why would anyone else take either one, and give us anything in return?

Yeah, the number show Bargs is actually a net negative in win shares. So he actually reduces our chance to win. I get mad just looking at his dumb face. Id rather we simply cut him if he cant be dumped on some poor team.

Houston might have to dump Jones & Motlejunas w/o taking salary back. To bad we have Bargs & Stat taking up cap space. Wonder if our trade exception and cash/or a future pick could get it done

better replacements? How about picking up someone from the NBDL?
If we're going to be trading them rather than just clearing cap space, we have to play them to inflate their #s though. They might both get injured in the first week of the season knowing them. If we're not going to just let them expire, we should trade them this off-season before their next injuries.

One guy makes 1.5 mil the other 1.6. I think the Knicks could do get them for guys without guaranteed money (i.e. Odom) or possibly the trade exception. I wonder if Morey includes them in a Lin deal. Both are good prospects.

Lets see how they fit the triangle first, the problem with Amare and Bargs is both are low IQ players. I wouldnt mind STAT back but no way am I giving him the MLE type deal and he probably gets that

I read Philadelphia is getting Motlejunas "I would of asked for him 2" , with Lin and a first round pick. I would love to get Motlejunas but the ROckets would ask the Knicks for 4 first round picks for him

Bargiani had some really good games with calderon when they played together, and I think both Larkin, and Calderon are very good PnR players. With that being said, I think the both of them are prime to have very respectable seasons, but Theres a strong chance,(IMO) atleast one will get traded before the deadline.

Id like to keep Bargnani and Amare for this season
