I know the bulls want us to take boozer(who i dont want) but if we do then we also need a couple first rounders, that great european player, asnd maybe mcdermott/butler.

Word is they want to keep Taj. And Melo doesn't want them to gut the team like he did when we got him. That limits us to possibly some of the following: butler, Snell, Mirotic, Dunleavy, McDermott. Phil said he wanted some aggressive defenders, so I guess we'd want either Snell or Butler- the rest are all offense and no D.

At this point, with the threat of losing him to the rockets for nothing, I'd be grateful for anything! butler, Snell and Mirotic would be ideal. A 2016 pick would be nice too. But set your sights low to guard against disappointment.

I find it ironic that now melo all of a sudden doesnt want to "gut" the team lol.

At minimum, it should be their 1st rounder in '16, and '18, plus the euro player and Butler. Can we get the rest as a trade exception?

At this point it's probably Boozer/Dunleavy to make salaries work, Mirotic and 2 first round draft picks. Gibson is a bad contract and I wouldn't hold up the deal for Butler.

Its not like a regular trade. The Bulls need to clear a lot out if melo wants a max deal(and we know he does) I doubt Phil wants any big contracts. The only way Phil will take Boozer is if The Bulls offer a ton of future picks and then they ahve to throw in the euro player and maybe butler

Melo will be in our conference so it has to be so something that gives us a fighting chance in a season or two to give the Bulls a run for their money.

Hold on to JR. In his new starter role, he's gonna have a breakout year.

I linked to the Chicago herald from slicksports and they had a proposed sign and trade where the Bulls would take JR. I think they would take him if it meant getting Melo.

Seems like a very logical epiphany to me, given how NY has played out.

We would have to take Boozer to make that work.

Exactly. He played 3 good playoff games then we know what he did and how he played after the suspension. I would love to trade him but nobody is dumb enough to take him when he has 2 guranteed years left

He played well in the second half of the season, and has a good contract, he'll opt out after this year. I think JR is tradeable- lazy Ben Gordon just got $9mil over 2 years!

I have a feeling Phil is gonna pull off something good. We all know the Bulls are fawning over melo so they will go the extra mile to get him. I mean look at the Mavs deal he traded Tyson chandler( who has regressed) and teh worst pg in the league and got a upgraded pg, a 2013 first round pick in larkin, dalembert who does similar things that chandler did, and cleananthony early.

According to Kenny Anderson Melo wasn't happy with the financial offer Bulls made.

Of course because the Bulls cant make a big offer to him unless they unload boozer allong with others. It also shos melo doesnt want to takes less moeny which we knew anyway. Hopefully the bulls can cave and give us a ton in order to give melo the thing he wants more than anything...money
