I still think we have a 18-7-1.5 48% center if Bargs dedicated 880% of his play foul line in. Can Phil make him stay in there and play like a post 7 footer?

Bargs was taking it to the rim last season, that's how he got hurt. As for post play, Calderon should get him better looks than Felton.

There will be plenty of short to mid range jumpers for Bargs to take in the triangle. That's the strength of his game now so it should be good fit.

I hope Phil can get Bargs nailed to the bench. This dude sucks! He's hit over 60+% of his shots in the post exactly once in his career and that was 5 years ago; he's never hit his post shots at an above average rate. He's averaged 18+ppg only twice and he shot 44% and 43% from the field those years. He's also never averaged 7rpg and hasn't even averaged 6rpg in 5 years. Whats the 1.5, blocks? I'm guessing blocks. He's averaged almost 1.5 blocks once in his career, 5 years ago; he has only averaged over 1bpg one other time in his career.

Guys, seriously, this guy sucks. He doesn't belong on a basketball court unless that court is at a YMCA. We were 15-27 when he played and 22-18 when he didn't. If you extrapolate the record with him in the lineup to a full season we win 29 games and tie for 11 with Detroit. If you extrapolate the record with him out of the lineup we finish with 45 wins and 5 behind Chicago.

Now the joy of my world is in Zion How beautiful if nothing more Than to wait at Zion's door I've never been in love like this before Now let me pray to keep you from The perils that will surely come

I widh we could get rid of him altogether. But hope is an irrational thing. Bargs is here for this year.

Only way I see us getting rid of him is in a Melo deal -- something like Melo/Bargnani for Harden/Lin/filler. Agree btw -- I don't want any part of this guy. He's walking fool's gold...I'd much rather see us find & go with more conventional big men..

Agree 100%. Bargs had a negative win share last season didn't he? He absolutely sucks and the Knicks would be better off simply cutting him and giving his minutes to someone, anyone else.

Bargs inside? no way man. he's an outside inside player, not an inside outside player.
Nixluva is posting triangle screen grabs, even when nobody asks - Fishmike. LOL So are we going to reference that thread like the bible now? "The thread of Wroten Page 14 post 9" - EnySpree

doubt it. hes PAPER soft. when are people gonna finally give up on bargnani! lol. hes SOFT
Knicks should be improved: win about 40 games and maybe sneak into the playoffs. Melo, Rose and even Noah will have some nice moments however this team should be about PORZINGUS. the sooner they make him the primary player, the better

Its hard to argue with the facts, but there was more going on when he was playing vs. out hurt. I think on paper Bargs should be better than he is- that is why so many hold out hope.

I was optimistic last year. I think when he played, he was alongside Chandler - that was simply a bad pairing. He played & we played better when he was the 5.

If he could stay healthy, I'd be happy to roll with him at the 5, with Stat at the 4.

But I don't see him healthy for a full year - we shouldn't count on it. And he's more likely to contribute to losses than wins- which is ok if we are trying to win the lottery.

He'll fit in the offense. Well see how they pay him, but the triangle should resurrect his career.

He was misused last year. I thought it became clear he was no longer good on the outside and should play the C spot. When he filled in for Tyson he did a very good job. His post D was very good and the team won games. I have hope that Phil and Fish can put him in a position to be productive.

ill never doubt his offensive game. hes a skilled big man. but its his lack of defense which is why he should be a bench player

I agree his team D sucks, but Bargs man D was very good. There is a difference. Maybe Fisher an Phil can help him with that.

Guarding his position at C Bargs frustrated a lot of C's last year. He did show some small improvement in his team D, but maybe with work he can get better. We must remember that we had some poor perimeter D with Felton out there and it makes a guy like Bargs look even worse. Also being involved in the offense makes him hustle more on both ends. He can't be ignored out there and expect him to have high energy. It's just how he is. In fact there are lots of NBA players who are like that.

i agree. his inside D was surprisingly good ( i remember when he faced dwight) however its his perimeter D that was youtube-highlight-reel laughable. and since there arent many low post scorers he cant help much on d
