Doesn't Melo in the post, and Dwight in the post sort of kind of clog things up?
Geographically, I don't get Houstan as the place for a superfriend hook up. For Lebron, I can see Miami, NY, Los Angelous (Clips or Lakes), and of course cleveland.
League balance I don't see at least in the short run why a superfriend hook up would want to come out of the west.
I'll take Harden because he is an asset and its better than nobody. Maybe Phil and Fish think they can tap into more potential from him.
But still, why do we get him and Miami gets nothing?
Not at all if everyone around them are capable shooters. The scenario would be like a steroid version of Hedo and Rashard around Howard except you have two capable shooters that can also run the PnR with Howard and post up on their own.
This trade is never going to happen though.
The smartest play if Carmelo and Lebron wanted to play together in a large(kinda) market would be go to Philly and live in NY. Start the contract at $18M then go out a get the surrounding pieces through trade or FA. They can get an Affalo or even Lowry by giving up Thaddeus Young. Maybe Both. On top of that They would have the MLE to get a guy like Gasol.
If I want to take control of my destiny I would do that
