sorry.. not to be misleading
In a radio appearance, Chris Broussard reported that the Houston Rockets and New York Knicks could agree upon a sign-and-trade of Carmelo Anthony for James Harden.

The Rockets could then sign LeBron James with their cap space to create a Big 3 with Anthony and Dwight Howard.

James and Anthony have reported interest in playing together.

Harden was a first-team All-NBA selection, but there have been questions on whether his game fits with Howard.

Wha? Feel like something is being left out, like the third team that gets Harden, and we get picks and quality role players. IDK.

Harden is a younger, smaller version of Melo. He cannot win on his own. Also SG is where NY has some players. This move does not fit the franchise.

ACTUALLY He isn't.. harden is actually a good and willing passer.. he needs to improve his defense tho, that is a glaring weakness..

this sounds like a bunch of crap talk, but if we can get harden for carmelo, then that would be a total steal for us...

but this just sounds like broussard playing armchair GM.... I doubt the rockets and knicks even discussed such a deal internally...

If doing a slow turn around Harden is just fine. He is young enough to have years wasted and in the summer of 16' hope Durant comes. Harden is highly efficient but needs to committ on D. Maybe Fisher can help.

lol... all I could think of is the Melo haters who dont like his shot selection and playoff performances. Then in comes James Harden... yikes.

Also Harden is literally allergic to defense.

Why not trade for Harden for Lebron and sign Melo outright?

Since when is dwight still part of the elite?

Doesn't Melo in the post, and Dwight in the post sort of kind of clog things up?
Geographically, I don't get Houstan as the place for a superfriend hook up. For Lebron, I can see Miami, NY, Los Angelous (Clips or Lakes), and of course cleveland.
League balance I don't see at least in the short run why a superfriend hook up would want to come out of the west.

I'll take Harden because he is an asset and its better than nobody. Maybe Phil and Fish think they can tap into more potential from him.

But still, why do we get him and Miami gets nothing?

I thought is was common knowledge that Melo was jealous of Lin and forced him off the team? Now Melo is gonna sign-and-trade himself to Houston to reunite with the hated Lin?

With that said, I'm not buying this at all...Typical Broussard throwing **** against the wall hoping it sticks....

Broussard & Whinehorst battling it out on espn for biggest tool award. These guys have no concept of his trades work and cap restrictions and team needs etc. they are almost as bad as the fans who call in with ridiculous trade proposals

Exactly. Using his limited NBA knowledge. Espn is full of talking heads. I was listening today and wondering how do people put up with their rambling. He has a scenario for each Lebron suitor that he makes up on the spot.

Never forget him copy and pasting Wojo's tweets breaking draft picks to a tee. "Espn sources reporting" yeaaah okkkk

He's only making about what Tyson makes though. There's plenty of room to add what you need around him.

I think Harden has been a net negative player these past two years but that's only one way to measure his contributions.

Not at all if everyone around them are capable shooters. The scenario would be like a steroid version of Hedo and Rashard around Howard except you have two capable shooters that can also run the PnR with Howard and post up on their own.

This trade is never going to happen though.

The smartest play if Carmelo and Lebron wanted to play together in a large(kinda) market would be go to Philly and live in NY. Start the contract at $18M then go out a get the surrounding pieces through trade or FA. They can get an Affalo or even Lowry by giving up Thaddeus Young. Maybe Both. On top of that They would have the MLE to get a guy like Gasol.

If I want to take control of my destiny I would do that
